Threads are sinking to new depths!

I know we normally get a lull in good conversation after a Prince music drought, but its only 9 months since the last album and six months since the last tour....

What has happened to the Prince Music and More section!?!?

Endless idolisation threads. Prince in green, prince in red, moving picture thread, do you want him to tour thread.....christ, no wonder he wants us shut down, its not exactly inspiring is it?

More worrying is, when someone discusses the music, half the people say "I've never heard of that one but look at the this picture of his butt".

Please come back NPGMC.....take them with U.....

Squirrel, I couldn't agree with you more.

I like a Prince pic thread as much as the next, but the fact I hadn't been posting much lately is simply because there's nothing inspiring here.

I admit that I tried, though. I started a thread on the album that got plenty of good responses, but one person can't do it alone. Things have improved slightly since that day, but things could be a lot better around here. Nothing truly inspired has come about and has given me the opportunity to post long and thoughtfully as I usually do.

I suppose one thing that could save these boards is if someone posted a thread on what Prince albums they should get. That really got the boards hopping when I first came here.

As i have said a few times here, alot of waffle gets posted, but in general, when it is in good humour, why not. There are some fantastic orgers here, some of whom could easily write books about their experiences, whether they be old skool or newbies.

I think we've just hit an ugly lull.
PE has grown old, the last "tours" were each in one city for a long period of time, and his 2 sec. stint on the Oscars wasn't worth more than "Did ya see it ?"
THEN he had a party that we only got to see pix of stars walking into.



I agree with Whitnail, tho. If we are brought together because we all like Prince, then what's the harm in having some fun while we wait out the drought?

I think you ought to leave people alone and let them deal with things however they want to, as long as people aren't breaking any rules or stepping on anybody else's toes I don't see anything wrong. If Prince is not complaining and the Mods are not complaining, who are you? Skip over it if you don't like it, that's what intelligent folks do.

The fucked up part is that it didn't get this way until he wanted us to shut down! This place WAS a treasure trove of the Prince experience!

I guess this makes him happy. Go figure!

I remember a thread very similar to this during the lull between 3121 and PE.
We've got a gig in Ireland happening soon, we can all get excited about this and naturally, the speculation of a new album will begin as well.
It may take a month or so before he starts teasing us with clues, we'll just have to sit back and wait and see.

I kind of look at coming online as a gathering around a musician we respect.

It isn't always gonna be a thrill hearing the same old things or even posting to similar threads...but it keeps the party goin' in it's own little way.

Prince is doing a major tease or punishment on his fans now.
The black screen at 3121 is daunting; it's almost like he
has flicked his fingernail at an unexpecting testical, bringing
forth cramps.

That's why there are some strange threads imo.
