Deleted scene from purple rain???

I was watchin the video for "Doves" and in it, it looks like there a part where Prince is in the warehouse where Apollonia and Morris Day were rehearsing, but I don't seem to recall him ever going there during the movie.

there was something like that in the trailer from the movie. he knocks someone out in it, i think. i think someone here said it was jellybean (the drummer from the time), but i'm not sure. wish i was more help.

Hmm. Maybe I saw it in there. Or maybe I saw it in both. I was gonna say I thought he punched somebody, but I wasn't sure if that was a figment of my imagination

No, you´re not hallucinating, there are indeed a couple of scenes that were deleted from the movie, for instance the scene where the Kid and Apollonia are making love in the barn or where the Kid and Jellybean get into a fistfight at the warehouse ( that´s where they´re rehearsing ) , and a couple more but I can´t remember them off the top of my head. Unfortunately, those scenes did not make it onto the 20th anniversary DVD release.
Some of those deleted scenes can be seen in the movie trailer though, I guess that´s what you are referring to , right?

I seen it too. Prince did hook someone. . Then I think was forcely thrown out of the warehouse.

Booo. I just watched the trailer to check these out. I never usually bother watching them with old films. Anyway, I really really really really REALLY want to see the deleted scenes now. Hmph!

The trailer was released to theaters prior to the actual final edit of the Purple Rain film, anyone else remember seeing that trailer at theaters back in the day?

Those "missing" scenes probably never received proper studio voice-overs, and/or have long turned to dust. The Barn-Fuck scene was partially used in the When Doves Cry montage.

Is there a deleted scene where the subpoena actually gets issued.
I mean,
cuz it really would've alleviated the awkwardness of that line when Prince said it.
Maybe a scene that shows Billy Sparks having it issued to Prince, because of he's sic & tired of Prince's negative effect on his bidness.

There are a lot of scenes there that were deleted. Looking at it again. I guess I will have actually listen to commentary tonight on the DVD
