Updated: Prince did NOT attend Benny Medina Party.

Not newsworthy..but 4 those that care he is out n about n doing well.

In what may have been their first night out since becoming parents earlier this month, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden hit megamanager Benny Medina’s 50th birthday party on Friday night.

The couple was among the 200 or so who filled Medina’s Hollywood Hills home for the splashy shindig. Mariah Carey flew into L.A. just for the bash and gave a toast, before helping present Medina with his birthday cake, sources tell me.

Prince, I’m told, showed up late in the night and was quickly escorted to the second floor of the house, where Carey retreated after the cake was served.

Ashley Olsen spent most of her time chain-smoking. Also there were Paris Hilton, Nicky Hilton, David Katzenberg, Mischa Barton, Kevin Connolly, Cuba Gooding Jr., model Karolina Kurkova and director Brett Ratner. “The theme was Casablanca Fly,” one guest reports. “It was ‘40s-inspired decor, and you had to dress to impress.”

Richie and Madden were joined at the bash by her dad, Lionel.

updated: I am being told from several sources, including some1 from E! and also some1 who attended the party that Prince was NOT there. The person advised it was a small group of about 40 people that were there and Prince was not in attendance. So this 4 pages of JW's not attending b-day stuff was for nothing. He was not there.

prince is always dressed in "casablanca fly" style so i'm sure he had no problem.

So when Prince plays a BD party, he is "working" so what do JWs use for an excuse when he's partyingat a BD party?

maybe that's why he ran up and hid on the second floor with mariah and the cake. or maybe he just wanted cake. or maybe he wasn't celebrating the birthday at all. maybe he was just, um...witnessing the birthday? for jehovah?

You would be correct about this. One night in Las Vegas he told the audience that celebrating birthdays was "paganism." I was like, "WTF does THAT shit mean??? But I STILL love ya tho!"

Prince played a birthday concert the other month, so I'm sure attending a birthday party doesn't bother his conscience too much.

Heard on Power 106 (LA based radio station) from Big Boy Monday morning.
He (Big Boy)went to Benny Medina's B-day party over the weekend.
P was waiting outside for Mr. Medina to walk him into the party, but he never went to get him.

Seriously, JW's don't attend birthday parties. Doesn't matter if they don't participate, meaning, singing happy birthday, etc., they're not supposed to attend.
