he made $ but due to the way he lumped alot of people and said disparaging things about hard working people, he lost his mojo. just because your a genuis and they are bean counters dont give you a right to question their usefulness. he made those statements about them as a rich man, before he met those bean counters he was a broke black kid from north minneapolis. once he let it get personal he forfeited his magic. if he could do it again he'd do it differently and leave with his mojo intact.

I agree with all you said except the last sentence. His out of control ego is such that I'm sure he would never lower himself to believe any of what he did was wrong -- he's so pig-headed he'd do it the same way and shit on all those who helped him up -- the mojo's long gone

I am in a Virgin Records store in New York City. They have a note up in the Prince section stating that Warner Brothers has deleted all of their Prince catalog as of early 2008.

your right flamingraindrop, i dont think the $ he's made gives him any incentive to look at that time with more empathy and compassion for the people he threw under the bus. i hate the way he makes the process sound like magic and just because god blessed him with talent no one else mattered. there were so many interns, calling radio stations, record stores, doing the grunt work to get his name out there and he just lumped all those people together when in truth he probably had a problem with one executive. that one executive probably told him to stop sending them volume and send them a concise, well recorded hit record that they can market. prince probably took that personal and the pissing contest blew up from there.

Leaving WB was a good thing, but not at that moment. I think he should have finished out his contract with top-notch material first.

How could he deliver top-notch material when he was oppressed?
