Madhouse 8, a favour of someone

Hi, I just bought a copy of Madhouse 8 on ebay, but I think I might have been given a good copy. Could someone do me a huge favour, is there a photo of the actual disc on the web or could someone scan it to see.Much appreciated

If you go to Housequake.com click on the Prince collectables forum there is a sticky thread which lists pirate and fake Cds commonly found on ebay and has pictures showing the differences between the real and fake discs.

You'll be able to see if your copy is legit. Good luck! smile

Here are pix of legit CDs.

http://www.housequake.com...genumber=1

Know that US Madhouse CDs came in a longbox and were never sealed(shrink-wrapped), UK CDs were also not sealed and had no longbox.

Many of the Madhouse CDs on Ebay are fakes, especially if they have a buy-it-now price of around $30. A real Madhouse CD should fetch a much higher price.

If you didn't pay much for a counterfeit, consider that you have a wonderful piece of Prince music and chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I paid a bout $30 for my Apollonia 6 CD knowing full-well it wasn't the real McCoy. I just wanted the disc without having to pay big $$$.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Well, I know that folks collect those Cassettes, I just don't see pricing discussed for them too often.

Thanks all, it looks like I got a copy!!! I compared it with the pictures on the housequake link, the one I got doesn't even have any of those coded numbers on the edge of the actual CD. Also, the cover was badly copied. So, be careful out there if any of you are buying on ebay. I bought it as new for €25. Oh well, you live you learn.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

That Apollonia 6 CD counterfeit that I mentioned is actually sourced from a vinyl LP and not the released Japanese CD. It sounds very good though.

I would argue the real question is why doesn't fucking Websheriff (and Prince) harass the people who have been selling these fake versions for months (if not years) instead of pestering fan communities who are following the rules?

Prince could put those bastards out of business if he would re-release the Madhouse albums, as well as Jill Jones, The Family, Vanity 6, etc.
