Prince pins

Hi! I'm a Prince fan from way back (circa 1977). I used to snatch-up any Prince items I could find. Back then, it was hard to find such stuff. Retailers would be like, "Prince, who?"

Anyway here are a few of my old school pins. Anyone else collect them?

Batdance

A Prince acquaintance of mine has over 1,000 Prince pins/buttons mounted on purple fabric covered cardboard. It's an amazing sight when all of the Prince button boards are laid out end to end.

I have most of these pins somewhere.

Have you all seen the Prince drink coasters and guitar pick collections on e-bay? Stay away if you're not into fakes.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yea, I used to have some. Please don't drag me back to junior high! They're probably in a box in the garage or something. I'm a packrat, wouldn't have thrown them out.

Thanks for posting this, memories...

Oh man, you're taking me right back to my 7th grade days smile

I had a TON of Prince pins back then, including a few of the ones you have. After 'Purple Rain' came out,I bought this HUGE pin that has the photo of Prince on the purple motorcycle. It's about 5 inches across!! I still have these pins too.The 80s was the decade where you wore pins of your favorite artist or group, just to "look cool" wink

CalhounSq, that button is "cheesy" looking up close. It's looks like someone took a pic of Prince and stuck it on colored paper. Must've been someone as desperate as I to have a button.

PlastiKLuvAffair you could probably jack my avatar by right-clicking on it and saving it, I think. Actually, that pic is from a button, I just added the background colors. square

places like sam goody, etc. would more than likely sell a n'stink pin before they'd sell a p pin, so nope ill...i stay away from that crap. i look 4 stuff at thrift stores and places like that. biggrin
