Al Green My husband asked for an Al Green CD for Christmas this year and we're listening to it now. I haven't heard his music in many years but am now struck by how much the vocals remind me of some of Prince's work. Same sort of vocal range especially in higher octaves.
The org always talks about James Brown and Little Richard as influences for Prince but I find myself wondering if Prince ever gave a nod to Al Green. | |

i hear resemblances also, although i can't pinpoint which songs. i only know a handful of al green's songs, so i don't know.
