Why not a Crystal Ball II

Hi, I've been listening to a lot of tracks recently like Splash, Train, Witness and I was wondering, if all of these songs are floating about and everyone listening to them, do you think Prince will ever officially release them on a Crystal Ball II album? Although I have most of the songs, I'd love to have an offical release of Dream Factory. Any comments?

At the Celebration in 2001 there were computers for us to listen and vote on songs for Crystal ball II. There was suppose to be another one but you know Prince.

I remember Prince on "The View" and other shows talking about his plans...Another "Hits" package is in the works, Crystal Ball II is in the works, RE-Record his entire catalog, Last time performing his hits, The Road House Garden album, Mayte and I are still together but just without the contract... Prince is DEAD...I am the other person inside of me and that is the symbol...Don't call me Prince...I will start giving away music...The internet is the way-not record labels...I want to release between 2-4 albums per year and WB couldn't keep up.

on and on and on ..... As you can see none of this was true.... How many albums have we received since 2000? Yes. I know 2000-2003 were a little rough on the brotha....

Because unlike by-the-numbers funk, uninspired ballads or religious rants peppered with bland musical flourishes, releasing another collection of previously unheard tunes recorded before Prince lost his muse would make sense & be what people want to hear. Therefore, it'd be going against Prince's instincts & just won't be happening.

True, we need volumes two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine and ten before we can have 11.

I think that was the planned Crystal Ball video collection which would have included the likes of '18 & Over' and 'P Control'

Actually, that's not true. Crystal Ball II was not released because it didn't gel with his new religious beliefs.

Sorry, I didn't know new his religious beliefs were against making good music???? I pity the fool.

Then again, as he hasn't released anything musically interesting since the first Crystal Ball...

Taking 1 live release and pretending its 2 separate albums seems a bit beyond desperate don't you think?

I'd also call it a bit desperate to call Rave In2 The Joy Fantastic a collection of "previously unreleased remixes," when it came out only a matter of months after the original release and Prince used to release maxi-singles with more varied content than that entire album.

not to mention... if what he thought was good material on crystal ball one (aside from like 5 tracks) cb 2 would probably suck big time...

cause cb1 sounded like bottom of the barrel shit

eek you bugging big time. crystal ball, movie star, calhoun square, dream factory and pretty much all of them but the remixes and such all kick ass. even the newer songs. i like cloreen bacon skin but i don't understand that inclusion with all the other better, shorter actual SONGS he could have used and he definitely used the wrong take of an honest man. he should'a flesh out the cds a bit more too. every one is like 50 minutes long. he could'a filled those cds, easy. still, i'd die if crystal ball 2 came out, but then again with his religious beliefs and stuff, i'm not holding my breath. it's good to dream though. cloud9

When I think of a 3cd set of unreleased stuff... that wasn't what I had in mind.

look at all those bootlegs all over.they are filled with good unreleased songs... yet he threw us some refried doo doo on 3cds....

i dont think anyone really got the crystal ball release, it was an official bootleg, and is a brilliant piece of work. P knows that his fans have bootlegs, he actually condones sharing them, and with CB, he simply threw out something that we could measure quality with, hence, the quality of the boots since released is far better than before cool
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

aha, i see what you are getting at, good point actually, but i still think CB is great, the really good stuff on it makes up for the Doo Doo, lol

I think you're right about that. Songs like Electric Intercourse and Extra Lovable were to be apart of Crystall Ball II project. And we all know the lyrical content with Extra Lovable.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Electric Intercourse, I bet the 1st Avenue version dubbed like the 3 released tracks from that concert (but nearly untouched as the live version was close to perfect)
