Are there any Prince albums that you literally haven't listen to in years?

Kamasutra comes to mind for me.

The Vault. I pull it out every couple of years to see if it will grow on me, and it just doesn't.

There are actually a few I've never listenned to in their entirety (Kamasutra, Crystal Ball, etc.)

I think I haven't listened to 1999, Controversy, For You, or Prince in years.

What's really odd, is albums I originally ignored, I actually listen to alot. Emancipation is a prime example.

It's one of those albums I've been playing alot. DISC 2 form the set, I used to NEVER listen to, and now I play it all the time. I like the colors in the album. It evokes a very strange, dreamy feel. You could tell he was madly in love in parts of it--or at least he was good at making us feel that way. shrug

i agree with u, although i recently listened to "Parade" this summer, i like to listen to what Prince has to say, but some songs from "Parade" just aren't his usual style and i rather listen to some of his other music smile

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

For You - Only have this on cassette, which I dont have here
Prince
Grafitti Bridge
Batman
The Vault - although I will soon, due to an agrument I had with someone
NPS
1-800 New Funk

Most of the above mentioned I have not listened to in about 10 yrs or more

On heavy rotation at the moment are C&D, 1999, ONA Live and various other bits and pieces I have accumulated over the last few months.

Planet Earth will eventually become the album I have listened to least, whenever I go on 3121, I cant hit the pause button fast enough wink
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Stands to reason he gave it away for free, maybe he should have included a tenner, although even then, I think I would not listen thru it all again, he basically should have reduced it to a 3 track EP razz

Let the flamming begin lurking

His first two. But I haven't heard emancipation in years and I liked listening to that. Another one is The Gold Exp.

It doesn't feel as if he was faking. Feels like he was deeply in love with her and their baby.
I was very ill at that time and the whole Emancipation CD bothered me to death. I just couldn't listen to it. But although I was very depressive I felt him oozing throught this 3CD set. When I got a little better I still couldn't listen to it but the whole CD 2, it just stole my heart afterwards, soul sanctuary grew incredibly on me for some strange reason.

I believe that you', in some way have to be ready or to be in some kind of mood to dig his CD's.
I have never listened to chocolate invasion and slaughter house, I first did going to the O2, to break time, boy, are they bad!

Lots of albums I didn't listen to entirely, skip songs or simply "forgot" lots of them, especially after Chaos and Disorder. New Power Soul? (with exception of Until you're in my arms again, cuts like a knive and wasted kisses/the one), Rave un2 the joy fantastic? 3121? And I don't think I will ever listen to them again.

I did put on 1999 a month ago. The only thing I sometimes listen to (in the winter underneath the solarium) are bootlegs and I skip like a madman also.
I do know that if I would make the effort to walk to my attic I could listen to the old albums, like For You, Dirty Mind, Around the world in a day etc.

Its impossible to keep listening to the same music over and over again. It gives a headache.

These are the P albums I listen to semi-frequently:

ATWIAD, Lovesexy, Gold Experience, The Rainbow Children, NEWS, Sign Of the Times, 1999.

The rest of them are in a box, stored away on my top shelf. I don't dislike 'em, they just wore out their charm.

Xenophobia at least that's what I think the album name is, maybe it's just one of the songs from it I forget which.
