solo (song)

What's everyone's opinion on it? I feel like it's something that's pretty opinionated. I think it's incredible, and it reminds me of a Jeff Buckley track. I think it's also under appreciated, it's very dramatic, tragic, intimate (yet mysterious), and overall beautiful. the harp is a nice touch too. I think it should be put on a list of songs that deserve to be revived live.

All of the pieces of the "Come" album has some purpose to the whole... and I wouldn't leave any of the tracks out.

A lot of people aren't so into this one. Sure, it's unusual, but then again, Prince is unusual sometimes in his way of thinking.

This is one of his more brilliant works. I get the gist of what its about, but the storyline, I'm still figuring out what that's all about. And that's part of the fun. It shows so many degrees of his personality and it almost always gives me chills. To think he felt this way at one time... its not very pleasant and I'm glad that he's gotten past it. cool

To me there is not mystery to be had with this song,I understand exactly what he is talking about, it's a pretty straight forward song, one has to have been in this place he is talking about to understand, the depth that it can take you to. prince

y would he think anyone would enjoy listening 2 this? if i was suicidal & heard this song i'd do myself in there & then neutral
if he was feeling miserable, i wish he'd kept it 2 himself.

this song is a good example of why I'd ask him "besides the money, why do u share such personal material with the public?"

I love it. I wish Prince would do more things like it. It was great to see him collaborate with a playwright on a song--it was totally unexpected, and the song itself is unlike anything Prince has done. Also, the song defines the album as a dark, brooding classic. I'm glad not every Prince album is like it, but also really glad that Prince has it in his catalog.

I never have cared for this song. It's a little too dull for my taste.

i guess the mysterious aspect i was referencing was the sound, it's so hollow and haunting. i think i like it so much (at the moment) because it's its own.
