What was the name of that Journey song that has a similar chord structure to Purple Rain but came out before Purple Rain ? Or Laid Back´s dance hit White Horse, that came out before Erotic City and sounds like it influenced Prince to come up with Erotic City ? Or that song with Eddie Hazel that inspired Andre Cymone to write Do Me Baby, which then got claimed by Prince ? Or that Ohio Players song that reminds a lot of people of Computer Blue ( what´s it called again ? Hell ? )

Although it was many years ago, an artist or producer creating new music NOW may like that S.O.S song and want to sample it not knowing that the idea of that song originated from a song Prince produced. I wouldnt be surprised if its already been sampled. Either way, if you didnt know of the S.O.S band or Appollonia 6 or their music you know it now and may even go find some of their stuff. (you meaning the orgers that are not familiar with S.O.S. band/Appollonia 6, notice from this thread http://prince.org/msg/7/252877 alot of orgers are under 21 and may not be familiar with either group) Some of you really need to relax and put on a happy face.  | |
