For Best Male R&B vocal performance www.grammy.com (No idea who is nominated against him. Sure some1 can find out as grammy.com crashed.) Thanks 2 PhilG 4 sending this in.-j7 Here you go... Best Male R&B Vocal Performance (For a solo vocal performance. Singles or Tracks only.) * Woman Raheem DeVaughn [Jive Records] * B.U.D.D.Y. Musiq Soulchild Track from: Luvanmusiq [Atlantic Records] * Because Of You Ne-Yo [Def Jam Recordings] * Future Baby Mama Prince Track from: Planet Earth [Columbia/NPG Records] * Please Don't Go Tank Track from: Sex, Love & Pain [Blackground/Universal Motown] I think Ne-Yo's going to win. The song was the most popular of the bunch and Ne-Yo's on fire right now. [Edited 12/6/07 11:30am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Prince came up empty last year (which is actually this year)... and I was completely
I'd be on my feet if he won this year, though. It sounds like I'm underestimating him and you're right. I don't think he stands a chance because the committee only cares about the fresh, new acts. They've got no respect for him or his talents, so he gets passed over. Especially with this song. I'm not gonna lie. I love that song, but it's not the strongest on the album. Like someone said, if Somewhere here on Earth was nominated... there'd be a standing ovuation cuz Prince would win for sure. That song is full of class and brings sophistication back into the industry. That's what GREAT music is supposed to sound like, my friends had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. While I'm always glad to see Prince nominated, why do they have to pick the song that gets the most airplay? FBM was alright, but Planet Earth, Resolution, The One U Wanna C, Chelsea Rodgers, or Guitar are much better songs in my opinion.
Oh well, congrats Prince. Even though now I can't think of the Grammys without thinking of that Simpsons episode when Homer's group won a grammy.

I wonder why he left the show in 2005 when he won 2 or 3? He was there in the beginning but he left before he won for "Call my name." Interesting...
He'll except some awards and then trip about others... Remember in 2004 (the year he performed) he was nominated for N.E.W.S but lost to someone. That night on stage he said "I don't need no Grammy." I also remember at one of the celebrations during the tour the guide showed us his trophy case and he kept saying this is award was for that and this award was for this but keep in mind he doesn't care about these. In the paper the next day it said "If he doesn't care why does he have them in a trophy case displayed in the front of the building?" I know he says he doesn't care but as a human we all want to feel appreciated and loved. Winning an award for something we created does that. Prime aka The Kid

If anyone needs any other evidence that the Grammies are either bought for by the record company or voted for by deaf people... FBM is one of five "Best Male R&B vocal performance"? SotH is supposed to be one of the five "best song featured in a movie"? Pur-lease. © Bart Van Hemelen

It will be interesting to see if the academy will stiff his ass like they did last year along with his Musicology groupie/protégé/3rd wife (shot gun wife arranged through Graham -JW relative ties hidden from the public).

WTF Does this have to do with anything?
"(shot gun wife arranged through Graham -JW relative ties hidden from the public)." FBM is not the best song P wrote in his entire carreer but, it is a good RnB tune that did do well on the RnB A/C chart. It is just the kind of song that would get a Grammy nod. Song of the Heart fits the movie and I know people who are not P fans who really like it. I think some of you think P is around to be your personal jukebox. He is an artist that would like to sell a few CDs every now again. Nothing wrong with performing music that is a little mainstream. He has got enough diversity so that you really can find something for everyone. Not many artist can pull this off. ----- MsLegs said: Future Baby Mamma gets Grammy nomination

I am not a spindoctor or paid asskisser. I just don't think that P is Satan. I guess I have a life and I am sorry you don't. Why don't you and the rest of the bitchers and complainers go start you on board. The whole board could be aboout how a person you don't know from adam has runied your lives but, you have no control over yourself so you must keep buying his music and paying attention to what he does. Please get a grip on reality and seek help. ----- MsLegs said: laurarichardson said: . Not many artist can pull this off.

i agree what u say about the haters on these prince fansites. no one complains when middle of the road acts like justin, akon, ne-yo, chris brown & their like get nominated & win, but it seems, almost everyone here is complaining about princes music. if u don't like it then don't listen - just go away & listen to all that rnb, hook & beats-heavy, nusery rhyming pap, that exists on focus-group, computer-playlisted, UK & US radio & tv.
By the way, i love 'fbm'; i love how it swirls up towards the end, & i love how it flows into 'Mr Good Night'. i also love planet earth, guitar, the 1 i wanna c, the beautiful (probably my favourite from the album) somewhere here on earth, & of course the slammin' chelsea rodgers. infact, i love the album - its better than 3121 & musicolgy. I'd say, his best since rave un2 the joy fantastic. i mean, can anyone honestly say there was a better album this year? And song of the heart is a cute little tune, so good luck to prince. U know, not everything prince does is going 2 b a sott, parade, or purple rain. just get over it.

I it and have to deal with so many people that don't. I'm just worried he might not be able to win with that song... he'd stand a chance with Somewhere here on Earth... people today dont appreciate his music like they used to, so he almost always loses out to the younger acts All the things you said about PE, I agree with It's miles ahead of Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic, and I like that album a lot as well. But I like pretty much everything he does :giggle; had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
