In order (they're not exactly my favorites on the album, but can rank 2nd or 3rd favorite):

Purple Rain
3121
Planet Earth
Sign O the Times
1999
"For those who know the number and don't call...Fuck all y'all"

I think the best title tracks are supposed to be a representative of what the album is all about.. and also doesn't OVERPOWER the other tracks.

Purple Rain, Gold and Planet Earth are awesome... but they kinda make you expect great things from all of the other songs in the album.
Gold is worth waiting for, but it's almost like an experience in itself (that's just me, though).
Purple Rain is beyond incredible, as we all know... but it's almost as if its in the class by itself (duh!!) and puts some of the less impressive tracks to shame (but its lucky that a lot of the tracks are just as impressive in other ways, TB1's, When Doves Cry, Darling Nikki... 2 name a few).

Putting Planet Earth at the beginning of the album was kind of a bad move cuz you expect huge things from the other tracks... not that I'm complaining, I love the album as a whole, but maybe the placement was just bad hmmm

Having said that... I think that 1999 and Diamonds & Pearls are the best... and 3121 does make a good statment for itself too. It represents what the album's all about (futuristic fantasy)... and then some.
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

i guess my favs are thus a tie between Parade and The Rainbow Children
for 2nd place and Crystal Ball firmly on the #1 altho it's not from an
official complete "album" as such, altho it was the title track of the
official 1987 crystal ball and then for the compilation set.
