Fan/Fam/follower/admirer/worshiper/.....dont matter what u call yourself as we are not all on the same level when it comes to PRINCE and his MUSIC. some of us love almost anything he puts out, some get pissed when he dont meet thier expectations, some are casual fans who dont know every song, some are self proclaimed PRINCEOLOGISTS, who know or think they know everything about him /his career/his music/his life...etc.....

i think it's silly, maybe even a little bit campy. i use "fam" as a verb fairly regularly without hesitation. if i go to a prince concert or if i see a super rare video or old photograph i'd never seen before, i have no problem saying "WOW, i am FAMMING OUT right now!!!" so i guess for me, "fam" is more about a weakened/euphoric state of mind than a label of loyalty to the purple establishment. | |

"The idiot above" didn't create the picture. He didn't create this one either, but you deserve it. 
"The idiot above" would probably also probably try to think of a better way to abbreviate "purple" when creating a username, instead of going around having people think of him as "poeplerain"
