I've received The Glory Years, only watched about half of it so far. Not bad, nothing particularly new so far, but interesting anyway - Paul Gamboccini (spelling?) is always interesting to listen to I think. Good to show people who don't know much about Prince maybe? What did you think Savage?

Waiting for Purple Doves to arrive next.... this is costing me a fortune!!

I got "Purple Doves" and "Glory Days" from Amazon.de . Quite nice, but I haven't time now 2 watch them all, only in a zapping way. I didn't expect Prince music (only backround music by a nobody while watching Prince videos. That's normal for bootlegs like this because of the copyright.) but there is some music by Prince on glory days. I think the stories and interviews are quite interesting. I had some of the interviews on Purple days, but not all of 'em.

Mine's arrived - Pretty good - I mean it's shit in production terms but Dez, David Z, Alan Leeds, and Paul Gambicini all make good contributions and unlike the early years vid it actually features his music/vids. It doesn't have much competition but it's the best attempt I've seen yet at doccing him.

Fun quiz on the extras - I got one wrong! So ashamed!

We enjoyed it. Surprised by the music and videos. It covers early years up to Batman.

Bits I didn't know. Dez Dickerson helped draft the first version of raspberry beret. Plus a pic of Prince snogging his bandmate Gayle Chapman. Some previously unseen photos as well.

Not done the quiz yet but hope I get them all correct.

I think the 'Princely tales' are pretty funny too, the story about MJ, and Prince says "he's too busy to talk to you right now, he's got a hit coming out", about David Rifkin?
