isnt pfunk the intellectual property of george clinton?

SORRY MODS DONT WHY IT DUPLICATED??

afterall he has the pfunk allstars!

who is copying whom?

when does emulation become plagerism?

who owns the intellectual rights to words and music who owns the right to a refrain or a changed word in a sentence

who own ' to paint a perfect picture'? prince?

or could it be geoffrey gardner 'i'm going to paint a perfect picture...' the first line of the choraus in that hymn.

how far should copyright extend? am i allowed to share my music with my family? or should they buy their own and i listen solely on headphones?

should i be worried that if i invite a friend over and show them a cd cover to admire the artwork, that the thought police will be knocking on my door as the cd was sold for my personal use. the showing and sharing of album covers etc on the internet is the same situation. no-one is making money from it the fan sites are free and we enjoy freedom of speech in each of our democratic countries.

should we buy music by entering a store listen in a booth buy a black wrapped cd and take it home not to be opened until alone and non listening range of another individual.

are w to ban children from copying art from comics because it is the artistic or intellectual property of the publisher or graphic artist.

should the graphic artist/illustartor be sueing prince for allowing the misuse of their art or indeed for not allowing it to be viewed when it was most likely sold to prince with lisence to be used as a cover and by that very inference viewable by the public?

prince needs to make a public statement because this has now left cyberspace and the whole world is now aware of the goings on here on the fan sites

should we collectively be suing npg for not providing a means for us to play music that was sold to use via their fan site?

should we be banning comedians from mimicking celebrities/public figures, should they be scared to speak out or poke fum at these people for our entertainment less they be sued?

prince has made a very fine living out of his collaborations with various artists and by his own choice decides to be responsible for that music

for me the purist prince music is that he has made 9apparently0 mostly on his own it is uniquely different to that of npg

'npg' is remarkably like 'pfunk allstars' where an artist can create a sound using many talented people and claim it for his own

will prince in turn start to see artists like rosie gaines come out of the woodwork claiming their piece of the pie? how much of those npg songs are princes and how much are theirs.

all artists collaborate that is how we evolve and prince evolved but he appears to be evolving into the very beast he claims to despise.

that beast although now very old originally financed young acts/artists/writers and gave them a leg-up in the world. yes the 25yr rule is now antiquated and it is time for copyright reform but how far should we go?

i am a law abiding citizen

i do not own bootlegs

i do not download stuff

i do promote princes many talents to my friends and npg have actively encouraged us to do this with the provision of banners

npg need to come out of their cyberspace world and stop being so cryptic its time to stand up and be counted in the real world, now the press know what has been going on for years.

the cover of planet earth is now worrying and i wonder prince 'which ones will you choose and which ones will you loose' well if you are choosing to loose your fans then you are on the right road

if you are not in control anylonger then its time for 'a new position' and get rid of those 'scallywags who pretend to be friends'

or has the beast that calls itself npg or paisley park become so in control that the man who is prince is being led along a dangerous path - only he can tell us

but as we all know he doesnt talk to us

this prince seems to be completely alien to the guy i saw at the o2 or the guy fans reported on here as taking time to talk to them, touch their hands etc

which leads me to think he is not in control of his enterprises
prince is in danger of becoming the very thing he hates -

most of recent music makes references to having no friend or being alone - maybe this is the case

as for PFUnk

i still cant see where the supposed 'diss' is in this somg yes there are a few references to to fans but the main lyrics are about some woman

i dont know its all too cryptic for anyone to decifer - prince you need to talk clearer cos the world dont get it - anyhoo what the heck does 3121 really mean - just TELL US!

phew got that off my chest - now im gonna cry

who is this new guy?

COME BACK PRINCE COME BACK!!!!! sad

no!

im merely rasing the question of where does litigation stop and whos gonna decide where? u or me or he or can we all talk and decide together

several countries in this world have already had the misfortune of thougt police and we are about to embark on that road

All i intended is for prince to look at himself and question his own use of copyright material - but then maybe ole george said 'go ahead boy use what u like its all funky to me - ill jus go sit down over here for a while, getmy breath an listen to those funky jams"

I'm with ya! He wasn't the founder of the mothership, but thats kool He can take n rehash what he likes...isn't a case of say as i say not as i do? lol
But seriously, Its the political and philosophical undertones that are at risk in his "controversy" game plan.

Yep I'm disappointed that some one I adore has so much self-esteem lacking that he has to replay his life pattern again and again, I thought maybe this time with his new religion and all, he'd finally accepted his life!

But just like a disillusioned "king", he needs to wake up, smell his shit and face it so he can rise above the madness of the world so he can sleep in the bed he has made!.

Unless he plans to side step into politics, he should just leave this internet censorship battle well alone!
And also, perhaps this is what he feels he needs to get to his artistic forte. (as the recent song could prove, although to me it sounds like a rehash of old stuff to me with some added lyrics, i can even hear a slowed riff of "nasty girls" in it!.. but i digress)

As we artists know that, from the ashes the phoenix flew and no one like a genius artist knows that pattern so well, and its potential success.
But to use such a magnitude of people to create the fire is surely immoral, nay political!! *yuk*

Its about time the masses stuck up for ourselves... 10 years from now I predict heavy censorship and recession, if we don't.... you'll see.

And prince will have shot himself in the other side of his heart, to match the the hole he already has!

Its a case of illusion, coma, pomp, and circumstance... just like the latest "net release" lol i scoff, just like the latest net-release i feel that this man is talking about himself, its all about him, as everything we do in life always comes back to us and comes from us....
let him play on... but don't take offense, just make sure he don't knock down YOUR fence.... fame or not, money or not, and most significantly, artistic integrity or not, the real question is... why should we be told what we can and cannot criticise?
( all words arranged herein this post are the copyright of lovealotbare and can be quoted with the appropriate citation "lovealotbare" and weblink to the original arrangement of words! lol )

No -- obviously, "Pfunk" is not anyone's copyright. If that was the case -- no artist could name a song that was the same as another artist's song. This was eliminate 20% of all music out there. Go to napster, I-Tunes, or anyother download site and type in "I love you" or "Missing you" or some lame shit and You'll find 5 different songs by 5 different artists named the same thing.
