This was mine after I got it taken. I know the haters don't like people getting the symbol as a tat but screw em Hopefully this gives ya some ideas to try

It's just stupid. You (or no one here for that matter) should get a Prince tat. What exactly did you have to do with him or his band. Why would anyone get a tattoo or something they weren't even involved in and has nothing to do with them???

I am thinking of getting one as well. Nothing as grand as this but a small Black Symbol, the size of the pendant at the top of my arm/shoulder.

Prince has been with me for over 20 Years. He has been the one constant (apart from my family) who I have enjoyed following over the years.

The following design appeared on the insert of TMBGITW CDS.
I always thought it would make a beautiful tat2 as it simply looks like a beautiful flower 2 any1 unfamiliar with the symbol.

The other bonus is that if 4 any reason u chose 2 cover it, it wouldn't b 2 hard 2 do.
Think carefully b4 u do it, as it is with u 4 life, and also b careful none of Prince's lawyers get wind of it cuz it may just cost u an arm or a leg!

Those are nice flowers..I guess when ya get a tattoo, u have 2 decide,
how big it's gonna be, and where you're gonna put it, b4 u decide what
to get...If it goes around your ankle...u could have a chain of those flowers.

getting an artist tattoo is almost as dangerous as getting a bf/gf's name. you're assuming that you're going to be a fan of this person FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

personally (and i have a LOT of tattoo work), i wouldn't do it.

you'd be better off having/doing things that have more to do with things you believe in or reflect your personality.

The point of the heart that points toward my palm was the most painful part. But I partly blame the bad tattoo artist that did it. I have since had it modified (and no longer resembles the SOTT heart as it now has wings) and that artist had such a light touch, that it was not bad at all in comparison.

As for my right wrist, where I have the symbol, is on the "outside" of my wrist ( the place where the lump of bone sticks out on skinny people) it's mostly black with a purple highlight. The outline was fine, but when it came to shading, shading hurt. But it's like anything else, take your time, ask for a break if you need it, stand up, streach your legs if its taking a while. Drink plenty of water. If its a good artist, they will want you to be comfortable.

90% of my tattoos are music related in some way. Go for it!

I was talking to my sister about doing this when I was standing in the merchandise line at the O2 on Friday...I have promised myself that this will be the last tat I get,but then I always say that.

Funny about that symbol btw. It made an impression on me from about 1984/5 to the extent that I put it on the bonnet of my then car (I have not driven since 1993). Maybe it's some sort of Archetype? Man and woman combined. Red and blue combined, to make PURPLE.

i would recommend waiting for a tattoo convention and going around there, asking uncomfortable questions - if the artist has nothing to hide, he will tell u everyhing u need to know and he will want u to feel perfectly safe and come back for more tattos
