Michael Jackson gets career advice from Prince

Michael Jackson has been talking to Prince.
Michael Jackson is being advised on how to save his career by former chart rival Prince.

The eccentric star has reportedly turned to Prince, who he battled for pop supremacy in the 80s, for help with his comeback.

The Purple Rain singer is said to have told Michael to play a series of acoustic shows in Las Vegas to prove to the world he is still an amazing talent.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "Prince has been suggesting that Michael play a sequence of unplugged concerts in Las Vegas just Michael and the microphone. No gimmicks, no costume changes, no smoke or mirrors, just his voice."

It seems Prince has had a change of heart towards his one-time rival.

Earlier this year, the diminutive star snubbed Michael's offer of a joint tour to help him re-launch himself on the world stage.

Prince was said to be concerned that the hype surrounding Michael's comeback would over-shadow the concerts, and he wasn't prepared to be the Beat It singer's support act.

Michael's career has been in free fall since his 2003 child sex abuse trial.

Although he was acquitted on all charges, he has struggled to regain his once huge fan base and has been plagued by rumours his once massive fortune has dwindled.

micheal should do an elvis type format where he's in a round, intimate setting with the audiance right up on him. he can even pause and do some story telling.he can then close by inviting his brothers up and doing j5 hits accapela/doo wop style, say thank you and good night. VH1 can broadcast it live.

Yeah it is, if P did say it, prob because he feels sorry for Michael the way things have panned out and how much talent he has

i'm not sure if any of this is true i just thought that would be a cool format for micheal to reintroduce himself and begin to shift the focus back on his gift. remember it was only 2004 that prince toned it down and allowed people to focus on his talent and push his eccentricity to the background.

Didn't Tommy Barbarella say that before the 1993 shows (when MJ was in a very bad way, possibly suicidal) that Prince would gather the NPG and say a prayer for him before each show.

I doubt there's much hatred between the pair. Jacko would never have dubbed a child 'Prince' if it was the name of a hate figure in his life. Or hire two of Prince's old band to basically write most of his albums.

That just reminded me of that fucking hilarious news of Janet Arvizo (the mother of the 2003 accuser) marrying someone called Jackson, insisting on definitely calling herself Janet Jackson, and then naming her next child Michael. falloff

You couldn't make it up.

hate is a product of fear, maybe when he was younger when he and more easily threatened.now i think he has more empathy for mike because he knows what it feels like to be cast aside.i think they share a mutual respect and truly understand the sacrifices of being viewed as "freaks".

BS! Once when Prince was asked about Michael his response was "Genious"! When asked about Janet his response was "Genious' Sister"!

Yeah! He should have his own comeback special!

Michael's son is called after Michael's grandfather! I doubt that Michael worries much about Prince! It's the fans that want Michael to hate Prince and vice versa!

we imagine two obvious beta males as alpha males because that is what society wants us to endorse. they are both excellent thus they must want to destroy the other and that line of thinking is false. both are introverts who come alive through music, neither is a tough guy, neither would pull a gun on you like James Brown LOL.they were competitive, like the beatles and the stones nothing more.prince wanted what he wanted for his own reasons and when he got it, he still could not fill the space micheal fills and vice versa.
