You may want to read this thread I started in that I mention an occurrence I witnessed where a male trucker was apparently excited to purchase the "Lovesexy" album, and I doubt, based on his reaction, that it was for the music.

My girlfriend at the time would not let me have the poster on my bedroom wall.

She didnt last very long.

I was 10 years old when that album came out. The local record store in the mall had the Lovesexy poster in the window, I can remember making all kinds of excuses to walk by that window and look at that poster but I didn't want anyone to know I was looking at it. Nudity can be a bit ackward when you're 10. But yes, I thought Prince was very sexy and I was turned on.

I was a little shocked but I didn't hate it, all my friends teased me SO bad

It's a beautiful shot and conveys the idea of rebirth Prince was trying to get across very well IMO, phallic flower bits and all. I mean, I'd jump at the chance to sex it up with Our Hero, but I don't see it as a sexual -or let's be honest, overly flattering -picture of the guy.

Not at first, but when I listened a few times and began to connect the image with the message, then I confess, yes. Not so much 'cause I wanted to 'do' Prince (I'm a straight guy), but because looking at it made me feel like he appeared to feel in the picture - which was extremely sexy, indeed!

Nope, never - amazingly enough. You'd think every female fan would go ga-ga over a naked Prince, but this one didn't do anything for me (except get me into a lot of hassle with non-fan friends who thought he looked like a right prat).

Usually I would say yes, as I'd happily do Prince whenever, wherever! But I like to think of him as being seductive and sexy, able to take charge and handle his business (yah know?!) but he looks a bit too vulnerable in this pic. I love the imagery and the use of orchids as a reference to the female yonic but the cover seems a little disjointed from the actual album content for me... maybe I'm missing something

Yes, I was only 15. I used to look at it all the time and dream of rubbing his belly.-and other things.

I saw the Lovesexy cover just about a year ago for the first time, and it was shocking because tere was Prince, completely nude on a purple flower! But the photo was done tastefully in an artful way. And I like that.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if he would have faced the camera straight on, like that cover John Lennon and Yoko Ono did in the 60s.

But Prince looked positively angelic and surprisingly demure.
