The Hits 1993-2008

In the liner notes to The Hits/The B-Sides it says something along the lines of who knows what a collection 15 years from now would be like.

Next year will be 15 years since the 1993 release of that collection. So, what would it be like? Here's what I reckon have been Prince's single releases since 93, please point out any I have missed.

The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
Letitgo
Space
I Hate U
Gold
Dinner with Delores
Betcha by Golly Wow!
The Holy River
Come On
The Greatest Romance Ever Sold
U Make My Sun Shine
Supercute / Underneath the Cream
The Work, pt. 1
Musicology
Call My Name
Cinnamon Girl
S.S.T.
Te Amo Corazón
Black Sweat
Fury
Guitar
Chelsea Rodgers

My question to orgers is what would your 'b sides' disc of a 93-08 contain?

Well there aren't a whole lot of b-sides from that period to choose from really. All I can think of are:

Rock 'n' Roll is Alive
Glass Cutter
Brand New Orleans

Which would make a pretty short album. Maybe you could include a few remixes:

TMBGITW remixes
TGRES Remix with Q-tip or the one with Eve

That list isn't that bad????

I'm not sure Supercute or The Work, pt1 were actually issued as singles were they? If were talking internet releases aswell then wasn't She Loves Me 4 Me such an example???

Also, wasn't Endorphinmachine released [somewhere here on earth]??

I would tend to add Love Sign, Dolphin, The Same December, I Like it there and Somebody's Somebody to the list as IMO these were intended as singles but for varying reasons were not offically released [e.g. dispute with WB etc.] i exclude Face Down because it is crap.

I would also tend to remove Letitgo, Space from the list so it begins with prince hits first - but that's just my preference - and remove Supercute.

As for b-sides, we are probably talking those mentioned plus Lovesign remixes from CB etc.BL&B from 3121.

hey, [Name calling snip - luv4u]... Prince wasn't SIGNED to WB when "Somebody's Somebody" was released to radio.. and screw your opinion. "Face Down," even though it bombed as a single (as with most of this list) it was STILL a single, [Name calling snip - luv4u].. as if it's worse than "The Same December," ahahahahahahahahahaha

you're taking it a little too seriously, i think the point "KAB" was trying to make is that, letitgo and space are credited to prince not prince

- "The Hits" 1978-1992 didn't feature only singles. Furthermore, it featured many songs that didn't crack the top 10. They are "hits" only to Prince fans. "Head" for example.

-If there was a 1993-2008 collection it should be called "Best of...". It need not contain just singles or "hits".

Here are the songs that would be in my Prince: Best of 1993-2008

THERE ARE 36 Songs like Hits 1 and Hits 2

Come
Space
Letitgo
Lovesign
The Most Beautiful Girl in the World
Days of Wild
The Ride
Pussy Control
Shhh
Dolphin
I hate U
Gold
Dinner with Delores
The Holy RIver
Face Down
Don't Play Me
Welcome 2 the Dawn
Come On
The One
The Greatest Romance
Baby Knows
So far, So pleased
A Case of U
The Everlasting Now
Supercute
Musicology
Call my Name
Cinnamon Girl
3121
Black Sweat
Te Amo Corazon
Satisfied
Fury
Guitar
Future Baby Mama
Planet Earth

Oh yeah!

The 3rd disc could contain all his internet releases since the beginning and the virtual b-sides.

Not all of us have them (and it's better on a CD)

I would be very lucky and Prince could get more money by releasing those ..lol

4 real y'all need 2 stop thinking that come on and the one should b on a prince collection of hits since the new power soul is credited 2 the new power generation and not prince. if u'r going 2 include these tracks then u need 2 include tracks from the npg albums like gold nigga and exodus
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I like the song choices, but the sequence is nearly very odd. What's up with the song order here? There seems to be no rhyme or reason.[/b]
