Prince Booed

Source:http://www.mirror.co.uk/s...-19638681/

Could Prince's purple reign over London be at an end already?

The pint-sized pop star, who is doing 21-nights at the O2 Arena, was booed at the premiere of The Bourne Ultimatum on Wednesday.

Fans outside The Odeon Leicester Square who'd braved a downpour hoping for a glimpse of his royal purpleness, were miffed when he was rushed straight inside.

We hear: "Prince arrived at 7.31pm and was seated by 7.35pm. Fans were so disappointed. His arrival was announced over the Tannoy and they had been waiting in the rain to meet him for ages. Instead, he and one of his entourage who had an umbrella were rushed straight through."

The rain didn't stop the film's star Matt Damon entertaining the crowd. He spent an hour and a half signing autographs and kissing female fans - even though he reckons at 36 he is too old to be a heart-throb.

Matt said: "I've got more grey hairs than Brad Pitt. And what's wrong with that? We're not as young as we used to be. Fatherhood has changed us. No more late nights and hanging around Ronnie Scott's listening to jazz like we used to."

Bourne to be mild, eh?

MMM I Guess its blame Prince week, I mean no one asked people to stand their in the rain, or of course it was some disgruntled fans after whats been going on this week.

But on a personal note theirs no way i would just go and stand in the rain for a chance of a glimpse.

If your standing in the rain trying to meet Prince at a movie premire. Then your just not a big Prince fan. ANYONE purple blooded Prince fan would know, that he's not gonna stop and sign autographs.... Might get yourself a watchtower magazine though! LOL

Has Prince ever stopped to give autographs or worked crowds? That's just not his style. If he did that, he would be, by that action, confirming that he's a 'star' which he is trying to get away from, isn't he? He just wants to be Prince, a musician, yes, and just a man trying to avoid the trappings that fame brings - actions like working crowds inflates ego and I think he is more concerned with being a channel for God than that.

He is a star tho,no getting away from that. I think it would be nice occasionally if he acknowledged the fans waiting to see him every once in a while. I agree tho that a movie premiere wouldnt be ideal as he'd most probably upstage the stars of the film LOL. But a nod or wave or something would be nice.

These people that queue for hours are simply star spotting. If a star ignores them, they all get boos!

I think its fair enough. If you have only come to see the movie, why does it need to be the premiere? The whole idea of the premiere is to create publicity . The public turn up so it would be nice if they were acknowledged by the freeloading stars!

I've stood outside many a premier including Revenge of the Sith and Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire. I stand outside these in a hope to met my favourite actors.
I'm not a star spotter I only go to the film premieres that the actors I like are in.
Sure I get upset if the actor does not sign but I don't except it.
I never expect at all that the people just watching the film are going to sign because 9 times out of 10 they don't.
Prince would never sign anything he's not that type of person no way I would go expecting him to sign.

He's only a star if people label him like that. He'll only be a star in himself if he behaves like one. It's just like he's gone to the cinema, that's all. He is just fortunate someone else holds his brolly for him! biggrin

If people are sad enough to wait outside a premiere, then they deserve everything they (don't) get.

Afterall, you can see Prince at the O2 for a measly thirty quid.

Definately not Prince fans then. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Prince did sign autographs for them, and they appeared on eBay soon after that.

I think that's unfair. He has been welcomed with joy and open arms by London. He has been praised to high heaven by every media outlet and the O2 gigs are packed out. Don't think us Brits don't completely appreciate this set of dates. We know it's a unique opportunity and we're delighted he's come to live in London for a couple of months. We're having a fantastic time and clearly so is he. Don't let one stupid article con you into thinking it's all gone sour here. The gigs are what matters, that's why he's here and they've been a riotous success. Prince loves London and London loves him right back!

These weren't "Prince fans". Just people hanging out to see whoever they could.

It doesn't look, from the pictures, as if Prince was rushing in. Just walking, as anyone would, just not signing autographs (But it's not his film, so why would he ??)

Look I'm not sad I stand outside these premiere's because I'm a fan of the actors. I do see a lot of autography dealers there who are there to make money.
I think your just thinking everyone outside a premiere is the same type of person.

I never expect to get anything it's always nice to see your favourite actor close up.

You need to know someone before you make a sweeping statement.
