Who could play Prince in a film about his life?

Hello,first post? biggrin
So who do you think could play the part of Prince? I think its about time we had an autobiographical film about him. I personally think this guy could play Prince down to a T...fab actor and amazing voice biggrin

Who is that?

I'd nominate Jeffrey Wright, an excellent character actor (Basquiat, Syriana, just to name a few), though he might be a little old.

I'm afriad people's choices will be too skewed towards people who look most like prince. While a physical approximation is necessary, mannerisms and pure acting ability are equally important.

David Bedella. He played Satan/warm up man in Jerry Springer the opera and currently playing Frank N Furter in the Rocky horror show biggrin

I'd also nominate Larenz Tate, who is only 32 at this point. He did a very good job depicting Frankie Lymon in another bio-pic.

Okay, I'm having fun with this question.

How about Evan Ross (Diana Ross' son). A newbie on the scene, but seems to be a good actor.

Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Whoopi Goldberg, but only if Gary Coleman is not available. Or vice versa.

I like the suggestion for the Ross kid, but my pick would be Joseph Fiennes - I realize he is white which could throw the whole thing off - but an excellent actor with a Princely look about him.

Don't know if he is an actor and/or a singer, but he comes pretty damn close to looking like The Original. smile

I think Terrence Howard is a terrific actor, but the only person who could truly do an autobiographical film on P's life is Prince. I think we all know he'd probably never sign off on something like that. He is way to private. Even if someone contacted him b/c they wanted his input I don't think he'd be into it. Who knows for sure. Maybe I'm wrong. Prince just seems to like to leave things to the imagination. He likes his mystery.

Jesus, what a total cop-out answer. Since no Prince bio-pic is in the works, this is all in fun. Don't take it so seriously. Have you seen some of the musician bio-pics that have been made? Of course, only Prince himself could be an autobiographical film of his life (as that is the very definition of autobiographical), but others could take a stab at biographical film.

By the way, Prince isn't that mysterious.

Hmmm, someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I wasn't taking it THAT seriously. I was just giving my opinion. I said that I like Terrence Howard because I think he's a phenomenal actor. A cop out answer?

They both could play a young prince 70's-89 circa!
They both have very gorgeous eyes too and the complexion, not to mention cuties!

NO ONE could ever properly play Prince....he's too unique...no one would be able to get down his dance moves, plus look believable playing guitar, singing, playing piano, etc. Just look at the film with some dude playing Michael Jackson. I've never seen the whole thing, just parts, and it's horrible. It looks ridiculous. No one should attempt to make a film on Prince in my opinion. If you want a film on Prince, they should just make a kick ass documentary...use all his interview footage and use a lot of the awesome live concert footage that's floating around out there on bootleg dvds. But if they ever try and make a film about it it would most likely come out pretty horrible just cuz I don't think anyone would be able to truly play him without coming off ridiculous.
