Massive Attack, Underworld, Orbital, Roni Size...er, NPG. Doesn't exactly shout out COOL BAND does it? Or am I wrong?

I've always found the name a little corny. I just say "Prince".

How could you be embarassed about the NPG? I don't think it is any more corny than the Revolution, Or the Time, Or Vanity 6, etc. What I do Know is that The NPG is the tightest band Prince has ever had, They play all kinds of music, flows with him like surfers riding the waves, and are all dynamic Musicians. I saw them in concert and they could have carried the show by themselves, They are funky and free. Prince is NPG, just like Prince is Camille, just like prince is Madhouse, just like Prince is The Time. Let the Funk began.

Hell no. why? i just say prince tho. but the band is awesome too, no matter who he chooses.

If you are talking about his band well I happen to like the NPG. Prince's band has always been cool.

I say "NPG" instead of "New Power Generation" because the latter of the two sounds really childish, like a kids cartoon club or something.

When Im talking to non Prince fanatics, i simply say Prince. I dont refer to the NPG because I dont want to sound like a Prince geek, kind of like Star Trek fanatics who constantly refer to that show

The NPG does sound childish. Whenever i heard the name i think of 91/92 era prince, so it's got real bad connotations. The Revolution was a great name, mainly because his music then often reflected the name of the band, it was groundbreaking and unique.
