Has he still got it

I've just finished watching SOTT dvd and was wondering if Prince 20 years later still has the same moves/energy on stage- or has age worn him down.

Can anyone who's been lucky enough 2 c him lately answer please...

Yes indeed he does, but not exactly like he did 20 years ago is my only point hug

I saw him two weeks ago, and he was way better in 2004 IMO, than he was in SF

The last time that I saw him live was at the ONA concert.
He was waaaaay more reserved than ever.

I caught the live simulcast of the Musicology tour at a local theater, and there was more spunk to his performance, but nowhere NEAR the type of energy that he had as late as 1992.

Considering his ripe age, he's still got it.
The energy level and the sexyness level (if that's a word biggrin ) was way more up during his younger days. I miss the days, when he showed more skin and humped everything in sight including the microphone stand. biggrin His lyrics used to be way more sexy, too. He was just too hot back then. I can understand that at age 49 he has to tone it down quite a bit. His stage antics from back then would'nt be so sexy at age 49. sad

thanks everyone.

Those who get 2 c the man live this year, party on, I'm sure he'll still put on a great show.
Its all about the music anyway IMO -even though he is still really easy on the eyes wink

Heres hoping something gets simulcast worldwide or released to dvd for those like me who cant get to a concert.

I was not lucky enough to see him in the 80s because I was too young but I am greatful he is still preforming and doing shows. I know he doesn't really do the whole themed tours like the Lovesexy, Nude, ACT 1 and 2 shows with all that spectacular choreogaphy and backup dancers that I loved but seeing him play music is still very exciting.

I don't really know how to say it..I like all types of music but there is something about Prince and his music that just affects me deeper. I really love how much he loves his fans and all he does for us to make us happy. You can tell he really loves preforming and he still is a natural entertainer. Even if his energy levels have changed with age he still gives 100 percent and I (and I'm sure alot of other fans) really appreciate it.

Thank u Prince for dedicating your life to music and sharing it with us!!! You have made so many people so happy!!!! biggrin

nod

He had the moves back in the 80's, I was just curious (having never seen him live) if he still had it.

Hip operation? I must have missed that. Can anyone elaborate.

Of course Prince still has "it", that ´s why most of us still bitch and moan here on a regular because we all know he still has "it" but most of the time he´s holding it back and is just coasting and teasing, for whatever reason.
And then, just when some are about to give up, he comes back with strong music and /or a strong show, sometimes even with some theme or concept, like he did after the Rave 2000 fiasco ...that was pretty tame but he came back with a vengeance when he composed and produced ´The Rainbow Children´...
I didn´t like some of the lyrics but the music was supertight and inspired, and the ONA tour was one of his best, even though he didn´t dance and move around as much as he used to .

Then he showed the world what he´s still got to offer ..the whole phase before, during and after Musicology was pretty energetic, even though the music wasn´t everybody´s cup of tea.

Physically, and that seems to be the main topic of this thread, he still looks great and does so many shows without showing any signs of exhaustion.
Sure , he doesn´t dance like he used to ,and he doesn´t hump around on stage but only he knows why...whether it´s because of his faith or due to physical problems, all we can do is speculate.
Personally , I can do without him dancing as much as he used to as long as the music is tight and interesting..that, to me , is more entertaining than his sex antics on stage. At his age, he still has incredible discipline and energy....most other musicians of his caliber would have gone through drug phases, various scandals, phases of laziness etc.....but Prince is different.

That being said, we all could list at least a dozen things he could/should do better, that´s for sure...but I seriously don´t miss the physical aspect, Ißm glad he focuses on his guitar playing instead.

I'm so glad Prince is not that half naked fool sliding across the stage and jumping off the piano, I don't know what to do, I don't even want to see him do that crap now.
