Unplugged - ever done

Hey, I'm just wondering, has Prince ever performed unplugged before. I have The Truth and I think it is a very good album, a pity it never got a proper album release. Does anyone know if he has done a concert before playing old songs done this way? That's something I would like to hear, a bit jazzy as well.

The Art of Musicology was aired on several networks prior to the release of Musicology. Prince does several hits on the acoustic guitar.

There was an acoustic portion in each Musicology tour performance.

And Prince did a whole acoustic show during the 2002 Celebration.

That's all I know of.

Is that the Lenny Kravitz song?

Subtle, but a dig nonetheless...

Yep! Prince did a brief little part of it to poke fun at the simularities between his song Wherever U Go...and Lenny's song Again.
Subtle, but a dig nonetheless...

Just to clarify for everyone here, Prince has never done an MTV Unplugged show. The term "unplugged" gets used a lot (in my mind confusingly) for acoustic shows. The show listed above was the acoustic first part of one of his Xenophobia 2002 Celebration shows. He has never done (and is unlikely ever to do) an MTV Unplugged show.

As someone with out access to MTV I automatically assume 'unplugged' refers to no electricity and therefore acoustic. Please forgive my misunderstanding!!! lol

Not at all. Many people do it all the time - the difficult thing is that prior to MTV Unplugged, you could have used the term with no confusion - but using it now, some people instantly think you're referring to MTV's show, rather than just an acoustic show.
