worried i may be disappointed

i have managed to get tickets for 2 gigs at the o2, the 14th of august, and the 13th september.

I have never seen Prince live but have waited for this moment for 15+ years. I'm worried i will feel let down, much in the way Christmas Day and New Years Eve as a kid was always a let down, after getting excited about it for so long.... What do y'all think? Having to fly to London from France also adds to the suspense, I just hope this doesn't smash the image i have of him live...

sad

Even if he is in his baddest shape, you will not be dissappointed - believe me - have seen him appr. 20 times - and it was everytime worth ever euro I spent ...

i've just bought my plane tickets nice and cheap, i was thinking of flying to vegas only a few months ago, and now i can see him in europe, i'm sure it will be good, a bit scared he'll come on stage for 30mins then leave...hence why i bought two dates!

You will not have wasted your money. And Prince doesn't really throw the tantrums he used to back in the day. He seems to have a genuine desire to give a great show and real value for money with this whirlwind tour, so expect it to be great.

Like netzverwalter, I've been to 50 shows and have NEVER been disappointed. Some better than others for sure, but feeling like I'd wasted my time/money - NEVER!

YOu wont be dissapointed... one thing I do have to say though... is, if you are sitting far back, make sure you make your own atmosphere as it can sometimes be lost the further away from the stage you are...

All it takes is a couple of people haveing fun and being load to get others going...

Above all else - ENJOY!!

I've seen Prince numerous times over the years and I have never been disappointed. Wait till you hear him play guitar live! It's always the hi-light for me. He'll blow you away.

ok - I have 2 make a tiny correction: many years ago he played the olympic stadium in munich (nude - tour) and left the stage after appr. 1 hour, that was 4 sure not 1 of the highlights, esp. as many of my friends have seen him 4 the first time then and never again visited any concerts

but the rest was just great: ie. nearly 5 hours in Zurich with Chaka Khan and Larry Graham, Aftershow in Vienna from 4 to 6 in the morning, ....

greats

The only thing you'll be disappointed in is when it's over.

Trust me, you will have a wonderful time. I have seen Prince lots of times since my first Prince concert in 1983. I always have a great time. I was worried when I was going to see him in March in Vegas because I was not really impressed with the set lists that I was seeing. But the shows were great!! It is always a treat to see the man live on stage. Plus I saw some friends that I hadn't seen in a while and made some new friends. A Prince concert isn't just a show, it's an experience. cool Relax and enjoy!!

I had never seen Prince live until the musicology tour. I had been a fan for 20 yrs. but, with raising 4 kids money had always been an issue. In May 2004, I saw him live...I was actually worried like you, for me it was that he had always been a dream for me, it felt odd to actually know I was seeing him in person. From the moment I walked towards the line to go into the venue, I recieved such a rush!! my heart pounded and tears came to my eyes, and I had not even seen him yet! The anticipation for it to start was almost too much for this old heart! Once I heard his guitar warming up, I knew by the way it was being played, it was him. I saw this tiny man on the stage, thank god for monitors! There he was in all his glory! My heart felt the enormous admiration I have for this man, and there he was in front of me. 2 hours and 10 minutes later it was over, I still recount every second in my mind over and over.
You will NOT be disappointed, enjoy! dancing jig

i truly doubt you will be dissappointed. The worse thing that could happen, is later on in life when you say you never did. I'm sure it will be an amazing concert and an amazing night overall. In addition to the concert itself, travelling to and from the concert and meeting fellow fans at the venue makes the whole experience wonderful. cool

First timer right here as well; my first will be seeing him this Saturday, the 19th at The Orpheum. I am indescribably excited.

It seems like such an offhand concert though. like he's been doing all these gigs in london, then suddenly flies to San Francisco for a day to do some gig for a bunch of card holders. Even the venue is pretty small. I really hope he doesn't treat as a low key type of thing confused

Please, give us an awesome show Prince! Don't hold back.

Let me start by saying that U are going to have the time of your life. Seeing Prince live is the best thing there is when it comes to hearing his music. U are right there in the middle of it all. The music feels your body and u cant help but enjoy every minute of it. I wish that I was so lucky to come over there and see him again, but it looks as if the U.S. will have to wait and see. All I can say is when he sings Purple Rain and we know that he will, stop and look around u and feel the presents of it all in that place. The first time I heard him sing that live made me cry and that is something that I thought that I would never do in a million years. U will have two nights that u will never forget wink
I have in one hand a bucket of water and a torch in the other, with these I will set heaven on fire and put out the flames in hell so that no one will worship god in fear of not going to heaven or ending up in hell.
