Encounters with Prince fans on the road

Today, I was driving to school and I was of course, listening to Prince. When I stopped at the toll plaza to pay the toll, I was listening to The Continental. I guess the person driving behind me heard it because as soon as they paid, they went racing to get behind me and they started throwing the wildsign out of their window. I then turned it up and did the same. It surprised me because I had never encountered a real Prince fan in real life. So, have you ever experienced something like this while you were driving? wildsign

Quite a few summers ago I was in the Dairy Queen drive thru line and was playing some Prince when this guy walked up to my car and said he noticed my symbol on the back window of my car. We talked a little about how we both loved Prince and his music. I could tell he wasn't a casual fan so I gave him an extra Emancipation lyric book I happened to have with me. He was sooooo happy to get that and it felt really good to hook up another Purple Hippie. biggrin

I was getting gas one day (in NJ we still have full service wink) and I was blasting Prince. The guy said, "Is that Prince? Yeah, he's a funky mother**"
Then he proceeded to tell me how he wishes he could catch him live... blahblah until my tank was full.
He obviously dug the music, but was not fully into the experience and wanted to come on board. cool

Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

It's a given when I meet people these days to try and hook them up.

Don't cha just love it!!! Especially when you're able to stumble upon a P fan in a conversation and compare experiences. cool I'd like to roll up on a "Bambi" nut just like me. ooo ooo oooooh!!! And by the way, there's a store next to where I work that sells odds and ends, and me and the guy that works there was talking about P and I told him about the items I have, showed him my Symbol Rose Pendant, then he said, hold on, he disappeared, came back with 2 t-shirts with P on it just for me, so every time he sees me walk by he yells "Hello Princess". smile
