I've just seen the interview Prince did with Chris Rock and noted he said his ideal band would include Michael Bland drumming, Shelia E on percussion, and Wendy & Lisa.

I just thought this was funny - certainly with Michael Bland, he could have carried on working with him if he'd wanted to. If he was still his ideal drummer, why get rid of him?

Yes, I know he's always changing/trying new methods to achieve his musical ends, but still I thought it was odd.
