Justin Timberlake - Sexy Ladies vs Sexy Dancer (by Prince) ??

Sexy Ladies vs Sexy Dancer.

I love the song Sexy Ladies by JT, and one of the reasons I love it is because it brought back to life the Sexy Dancer song from Prince - want that body want that body!!

I for one applaud JT for bringing some of the old Prince music back into the ears of the young markey listening to radio out there. The song even made me pull out the old dusty PRINCE CD and have another listen to the whole thing (how can I not remember how fantastic that CD actually was!!??), I even was inspried to write my own song "Funkass" (see www.slumberlords.co.uk ) HOWEVER, no matter how much I love the JT songs, I still think SEXY DANCER by prince is BETTER, despite its age...

What do you all think SEXY DANCER or SEXY LADIESS??

For me, although I applaud JT, I think the original is still the kick ass and the best..

I hear what you're saying, but I actually think the new JT album is hideous. Lazy & uninspired production, bad songwriting and a typically smug performance from JT himself.

That twunt wouldn't know "sexy" if it stroked him on the arse.

I do get what you mean, though - hopefully it will get people going back to old Prince stuff and rediscovering how it should be done. smile

BUT YOUVE GOTTA HAND IT.. Think about it, before Sexy Ladies came out, I hadnt heard the PRINCE CD in about 2 years and Im a massive fan, it got me listening to it and thinking about it again, thinking how great it really is.. now there are KIDS who would havent given 2 thoughts to Prince, let alone the PRINCE CD, listening to the MAN and listening to SEXY DANCER.

Whatever you may think about JT and popular music and how it stands in the world in general, you have to admit, it is bringing Prince back into the fore again. For GOD SAKE, my 6 year old neice is singing SEXY LADIES, so I just close my eyes and think that the whole world loves PRINCE AGAIN - as it should..

Well said... but you have to add Michael Jackson into that too.. Because if it wasnt for Michael Jackson's stage shows and dance moves and Prince's music.. I dont think Justin Timberfake would exist

I think Sexy Ladies sucks...but Sexy Dancer is a classic....Justin is good and actually better than he presents himself IMO. However he rips Prince's style without knowing technique and it shows...Prince is truly a MUSICIAN who has an incredible voice. There is just(in) NO comparison....

It is completely INSPIRED by sexy dancer. Its almost a cover, in the fact that they sing "want that body" near the end of the tune.

There is also another song on the CD "Until the end of time" which is clearly inspired by Prince.
