Talking through your rose tinted butt again!,there is a wealth of top quality dance music out there, especially in the UK where we are perhaps more receptive to new ideas.Yes there is much crap around but a sure fire way of P getting back on the radio in Europe is through dance. NOT the kind of sell out that Lionel and Cher do!, but top drawer , imaginitive, catchy trax that he probably has gathering dust in the vault.

Lol.....what's your EXCUSE?

razz ha, my well educated , exposed ears!THTA'S MY EXCUSE. Don't get me wrong, i've loved the mans music since i first saw the LRC video in the UK, seen him 25+ times live , been to Paisly Park and done the whole Purple thing. I just really believe that he has forgotten how OR lacks the confidence to make bold, booty shakin' dance floor classics again.

That may not be where his head and thought process is these days.

Booty shake? Isn't that more in the catagory of rap? Are you talking about Luke, 69 boyz, type booty shake. When you say booty shake i think of them. If you are then maybe that's not the type of music he's interested in producing. As far as dance is concerned you can booty shake to whatever song you want to.

balls!, i couldn't give a toss about other people's opinions [if i did i sure as hell wouldn't be into P!]. Yes P does what he wants to do BUT the point is that he tries to do Dance music and it really does show his limitations. Remember the days when he'd make technology work for him and use it alongside real instruments to create music that encompassed so much. It's no sin really that he can't cut it on the dance floor just natural progression!.

Whatever. You said yourself "imagine the laughter on the dancefloor if THAT came on". If you were funky at all you'd dance to "guitar" regardless of what the crowd's reaction on the dancefloor was. Prince's music isn't "trendy" and you don't like it. Boo hoo, what's new?

How can someone be too old to deliver uptempo music? Hell, the older artists are the only ones that throw down (although it's strictly on tour these days).

The majority of these little brats are the ones stuck in midtempo and refuse to get out of it. I haven't heard such boring slow shit since the days of symphony and opera. Lawrence Welk was more uptempo than their little dead asses.

Well put. Yesterday, I heard some little pop whippet singing a ditty on top of Soft Cell's "Tainted Love" which was pretty pathetic.

I really wish people would get off the age thing here. I dunno but growing up young people were supposed to be the open minded, free spirits and the old people were the closed minded "you can't do that", but nowadays it feels as if the tables have turned. The older folks are the freer spirits and the young people just sit around and bitch about everything that we can't do or say or wear. Get off it!

I'm now halfway through Zelda and the Twighlight Princess or am I too old to do even that?

LQ

Well said LadyQ! It does seem that way nowadays and it's a little upsetting when these younger fans think they know real music. When we know whats up!
