Yes he most certainly did! When they were announcing the nominees, there was a long scream and cheer before they got a chance to announce him as the winner. People paid attention when he gave his speech. He had to gesture to the audience to calm the applause down just before he spoke, but he did that in a humble way. He appears somewhere between 9:15 - 9:43pm, just about the last 45 minutes of the show. If you are seeing the taped version,it may be cut down a bit and he may come on just a tidbit earlier. | |

Imagine holding the planet earth in the palm of your hand with no regard for your place of birth or your claim to any land the only thing between us is now the truth we now all understand, if plant earth is in the palm of our hand 50 years from now what will they say about us here, did we care for the water and the fragile atmosphere there's only 2 kinds of people and the difference they make ... ones that give and the ones that take Ladies and gentlemen last week Tavis Smiley introduced me to some really amazing jazz musicians and as much as they were excited to meet me I was more excited 2 meet them mainly because I wanted to give them something that they would cherish forever. All that I could give them was the stage and which I perform on. And I would just challenge the phone companies and the new digital providers to allow us to be the gatekeepers to stewart the new jazz renaissance hip hop and soul music in the 21st century rather then the accounts and lawyers who ruined the music industry this first time around. I just wanted to give you that food and I hope I didn't take to much of you time. | |
