What do other artists think about Prince? - A collection of quotes I've always wondered if anything like this was ever on the org at what time, so if it has appeared before, please forgive me...
I'm a huge Prince fan (no surprise there), but, as any music lover will admit, he is but one of many greats. One of my favorite things to do is read up on an artist, then read what others have written or said about them. I'd like to start a collection of quotes, wherein many prominent artists put forward their thoughts on Prince, be they good or bad. I can start with a couple that I just found recently. They're from Rolling Stone magazine's article "The Immortals," and though Prince himself is on the list at #28, he is mentioned in both the article on the Beatles (at #1, written by Elvis Costello) and the article on Stevie Wonder (#15, by Elton John): "The word Beatlesque has been in the dictionary for a while now. I can hear them in the Prince album Around the World in a Day..."
