Who agrees that Prince is a better artist than Michael Jackson

My friend and I have been arguing about this and I feel that Prince is a better artist than Michael Jackson.
He claims that Michael is the reason Prince's videos were even shown on MTV because MJ opened the door for black artists on TV.

Michael Jackson may have sold 50 million records but his talent cannot compare to those of Prince. Prince is a better artist overall.
He plays countless instruments, he sings and dances and he writes his own music as well as music for other artists and movie soundtracks.

Prince is the type of artist that all musicians should aspire to be.
He's different, unique, and he reinvents himself everytime.

Who do you think is better?

Prince is a musical genius, technically as well as physically.

He's a great entertainer as well as an amazing all-round musicican.

Michael Jackson is an amazing entertainer. He is also a wonderful musician but nowhere near Prince's standards, in my opinion.

There is no doubt that Prince is the greater artist. He still has a career too surely that is testament to his greatness. And he is not a paedophile. No contest. Prince all the way.

I love both and can't say how happy I was when Michael got off, i don't want to see michael behind bars, I just don't. As artists, they are both superb. Anyone who cannot appreciate what mike brought to the table as a very young man who could write and produce excellent songs and pioneer videos and his dancing just doesn't like HIM. Truth is, Michael has always been a gifted songwriter who never took the time to really learn an instrument. Doesn't matter, he understood songwriting well enough not to and had the leverage to get the best musicians and producers to bring his ideas to full fruition. Prince on the other hand has not always been the darling of black america that some people seem to think he was. He was always a crossover act starting with Dirty Mind, he really fought hard for acceptance but I do believe that he was a crossover artist before the video age took off and that Mtv would have seen fit to place him on mtv with or without Michael. Remember his 1999 vids were all over MTV at around the same time as Thriller songs. it's impossible not to compare them and they both see lots of themselves in each other and have always had a semi-friendly rivalry and deep down respect for the other. As to the question who is the best artist? Well, you have to give the edge to Prince while not forgetting that Michael is a mighty force in his own right.

Prince is a better overall musician however they are both great entertainers so Prince is overall better.

i don't we have 2 compare them cuz they r different... (i prefer p) but i still think that m.j hasn't something in common with p cuz m.j changed his colour bcuz he cares about what people say but p shows that he doesn't care at all!
