I'm gonna go w/ a classics medley, a James Brown tribute, Fury/Black Sweat, something brand new, hopefully something w/ Tamar (like that sexy "American Girl" or whatever it was called that they per4ed in Bryant park last summer...yummy), and the climax will be him unleashing that nasty guitar of his with unparallelled precision and unbridled ferocity, stupifying the audience who probably forgot he could do it and forcing them to remember why they fell in love with him during the "Purple Rain".

That's my prediction. You heard it here first.

Hang on to your wigs....

"Oooh-oooh, teacher pick me! Pick me!"

Just got back from jogging and Sign O' the Times came on.

How about opening with that? It'll get every 1's attention, and is still relevant. (Rocket ships still exploding, AIDS is still killing folk....) Prince could even update it, change the hurricane from Annie to Katrina, and throw in some relevant and MINOR anti-war or political statement. Nothing too extreme, there will be too many Bush lovers in the audience (I'm not saying that is a bad thing, b4 everybody decides to get mad at me.)

Just an idea.

Prince, I will love whatever you do anyway.

Freaky-deaky!

I just listened to this again on the way home from work. After hearing it over and over again for the past 20 years or so, I guess I thought I'd heard everything.

Good Lord! What was going thru this man's head at the time?

A deeper understanding endures.

The WORLD isn't ready for 'the Cross' yet.

That, or I don't want to share it...

Yes, I realize that contradicts the whole of point of the song, but I can't help it..that's how I FEEL, man....now pass me that joint...

Come on guys, enough of this. You know he will play, Let's Go Crazy, then Purple Rain, with purple baloons, firworks and dancing girls with symbol football uniforms and a slick dance routine. I'm sure Fantasia will help sing PR with him. This is slick sports crap. We never see spontanious, good music on these things. For that you go elsewhere. Now please, no more of this.

Now go clean your rooms or do your homework. Daddy loves you..lol

I've read some of the post on Prince's Super Bowl set list, and I have to say that some of you guys are nuts (lol...no disrespect)....When a music artist plays a Middle America type gig like the Super Bowl, you don't take an obscure direction in terms of songs...Prince is playing to the beer-drinking, pizza eating, football-obsessed crowd....Not hardcore music heads like ourselves...With that said, it would ONLY make sense if the man opens with "Let's Go Crazy.." It would ONLY make sense that Prince plays his more popular hits...It's not rocket science, y'all...

Now there is a way that the midget can freak it...I like the idea of FAMU's Marching 100 coming in on a song...I like the idea of Prince wailing on his guitar on some rock shit (remember, this is the football nation...); I like the idea of maybe one song shouting out James Brown, just because the Godfather's passing is still on the public's mind...Hell, I wouldn't even be opposed to an act like say Gnarles Barkly coming out and jamming with Prince on a world-beating global hit like "Crazy..." In other words, this is the big stage; there's no time for Prince to play to his hardcore base whining about Prince playing "Purple Rain" (wtf??? it's an iconic song; on this mammoth stage, why shouldn't Prince play it???)...To me, all of these posts in this thread proves why some of you guys shouldn't be Prince's manager....lol

He's going to play either Purple Rain or Let's Go Crazy. Only music that is friendly and recognisable. He "will" do a James Brown tribute. This will jump start a major tour as long as he is exciting.---my thoughts 2004 all over again smile
