Given that John Lennon's B-day just past, a lot of his fans celebrated and mourned him. And i was wondering how would we celebrate and mourn Prince if he
died, regardless the reasons of how and why? I see Prince being know different
from John Lennon or Elvis as far as people keeping their name and music alive.
Prince is just as or more important than these guy, all respect due. But how would do you feel the rest of the world would pay respect to him, because i feel outside of us, his fans, the world doesn't give him the full respect deserves. So tell me how would you mourn and celebrate him on that fateful day and the years to follow afterwards and would the world remember him like John and Elvis? .....p.s. Michael Jackson's fans should ask themselves the same question.

Artists would lick his bum(no necro) on mtv.

Tell all books would come out tarnishing the image fans might have of him(read about lennon, elvis, hendrix, morrison, moon, bonham; y'll get the picture).

I don't know of any family members he's actually in contact with to own his estate?

It's not "If" Prince dies, but "When" Prince dies, cuz were all going to go someday. That said, there is no doubt that many people will feel a loss. Many people that u may not think are P fans, actually dig Prince, be it for his music, as an entertainer, for pushing the envelope or whatever. Prince is too well known and he has etched himself in pop culture forever. Will it have the impact that Lennon had when he died? Who can say. Gotta realize that back in 1980, the world and people, were very different then. A lot of folks that mourned Lennon, mourned him because of what Lennon stood for. That carried over from the 60's and protests and that landscape. Also, Lennon's death carried a lot of weight cuz he was a Beatle and even more so, because Lennon was shot to death. Elvis, was,..well,..Elvis. You can't put a price tag on how a human values an entertainer. What that performer brought to someone's life. But I believe this; there will be many more people that would feel a loss and sadness over P than many think. The everyday person could be as much of a fan of Prince's than anybody on this site. Maybe even more. There is no way you can speculate over who's fans mourns the hardest. Will P fans be more upset than Michael's fans? Will P get the same treatment that Elvis or Lennon got? It's not about who's more important, cuz we're ALL important. It should be about what they brought to your life. Was it joy? Wisdom? Fun? If so, then thank GOD for that and keep those feelings in your heart whenever u hear their music and enjoy it.

It's interesting that u bring this up. All of my musical hero's are still alive and well. Since I have been into and around Prince's music since 1978 I would not know where 2 put the thought of Prince NOT being around in his many forms. That very question was put 2 Alan Leeds a few months ago and he did a good job at attempting 2 answer the question.

Since my LOVE of music far outweights my LOVE 4 anything else.....I hope Prince goes AFTER I do.

Here's what would happen. All his albums. (Especially the classics) would fly off the shelves. His relatives, ex or current girlfriends, Ex Bandmembers(Especially the Revolution)And Mayte and Manuella would be hounded by the news media for any dirt they could offer. MTV and BET would play his videos around the clock. VH1 would have a Prince movie marathon. The worlds best singers and musicians would say very nice things about him. The word "Genius" and "Innovator" would be used a lot. They would probably name a street or a Park after him. And last but not least. The die hard fans would swear up and down that he's wasn't gone.

I couldn't take that. I would go crazy. I need my Prince.
