Forget TV apearances, without Radio support Princes future sales will remain low..

when you think how minimal the imapct was from appearing on Pop Idol and other TV shows this year I can't see how our man can boost record sales wihtout Radio support.TV creates a buzz but Rdaio generates sales!. Case in point has to be the Scissor Sistors present UK campaign, the first, great single, has caught fire in the U.K. and they are on Radio 1 for the whole day doing live tracks!!. If P wants to get mass airplay he will have to compromise massively and work damn hard with a major record label but I can't see him doing that. Musicology did great business on the back of a tour in the US BUT without a tour what hope does he have?.

does he really care? if he was purely all about units and the wedge, he would have made very different choices in the past. he really aint stupid, he knows whats truly involved in selling units in this day and age. he does what he does, when he wants to do it. every now and again he wants the world to see he's still kicking. he claimed he would never 'sell out' again, who knows for sure.
it would be interesting to see what he could produce if the right project came along, for example, another big movie soundtrack. 'sell out' possibly, but i think he's very capable of a massive album/movie. if he took his ass off to do some talk shows and the masses see he's human and more down to earth than they thought, that would be a major barrier out of the way. like i said though, he obviously dont want to or else he would have done.
i think theres alot of kids who still dont really know who he is, he's been off the 'popular' scene for too long. i know the guys had a lot of personal problems and stuff, but ultimately, he's chosen his own path and cut out a generation of the music buying public.
i'll shut up now

Prince has gone many a year when his songs were so explicit that they couldn't be played on the radio, so don't think he can't make it without a DJ.

you also have to remember that radio has changed a lot. DJ's are restricted to sticking to the playlist as dictated by Clearchannel, no matter how many people request a song.

Now a days with the internet all old standards are off.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
