I just saw an advert here in the UK on Channel 5 for something called "BATTLE OF THE POP STARS".

It didn't show much but looks like Prince is definitely going to be one of the main players in the contest.

I think he's up against Madonna, Michael Jackson - people of that fame.

Probably will show clips of them, and you'll get to vote with your mobile phone (text messaging) - that's what I'm guessing anyway.

It is on Sunday at 8pm or 9pm UK time I think.

Yeah, saw an advert for this, which implied he would be against MJ - hey that would make a great and unique thread! I'm not 100% sure that Prince will be on this week's episode as he is not mentioned in the list of artists for this episode supplied by my TV Times.

Prince has little chance against MJ, MJ's just got too large a fanbase, as proven by being beaten in that entry into the UK Hall of Fame a few years back by MJ, so I'm expecting Prince to get knocked out in the first round, dagnammit!

I put a vote in for Prince.

Funny cause the actual interviews and opinions of the celebs interviewed slanted towards Prince I thought.

Outrageous. Prince knocked out in the first round by MJ. Just shows that only wierdo's watch channel 5. Turned it over now!

I knew he'd lose to be honest, he's just not as widely popular nowadays in the UK as MJ. If this was 1986, maybe...

To be honest, I thought the montages of Prince made him look a lot cooler and better than MJ.

I was actually disappointed with the clips of Prince, Betcha Golly, 1999, Kiss and The Most Beautiful Girl were the only clips they used I think, not the strongest line up of songs they could have used and no Purple Rain tracks, they might have been holding some vids back in case he got through to the second round.
