Coming back to 3121

after 3 months and I love it!! I actually liked the album when it came out but would maybe rate it around the 6.5/10 mark. On letting it settle then coming back I'd have to put it at around 7.5 which considering I gave TGE the same means IMO its a very good album. I Love Lolita and feel that Love is as strong a song as he has put out since Gett Off. Incense and Candles surprised me in that I really didnt like this track originally but now would definately not skip it. Only Satisfied hasn't got me hooked, otherwise I'm glad I took the break anyone else find the same?

I do. 3121 is a very well made album. It's fun, soothing, funky, soulful and a celebration of life and God. I still love it and even more so now. cool

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

One of the year's best releases in my book, even though it hasn't done that well commercially. Way better than Musicology!

It's a good record, for sure, but it feels kinda "empty" to me after having lived with it for all this time - Reminds me of Weezer's Green album in that respect. All of the parts are there to make a fun album, but the intangible is missing.

I still enjoy 3121. Was listening to it today. Whilst I'm over Black Sweat and the title track, songs like Love and The Word will be listened to for a very long time to come. And Lolita stays in your head for the rest of the day once you've heard it.
