Prince's greatest tour

Sorry all you D&P haters, but "Diamonds and Pearls" was Prince's best tour. Not to mention my favorite Prince tune. What other tour did you like?

I would pretty much love to see any performance between 1993 and 1995

Yeah - D&P was the best produce for me (although could live without Tony M and that rabble) and teh one I was probably moste excited about.

But best experience comes during The Gold Experience...front & centre an dhe played Pink Cashmere and I Love U In Me which I had always wanted to hear live.

Despite the ticket fiasco the ONA show was good too.

But in terms of most cranked up Tour....D&P hands down. If Id been front & centre there I might not have made it out without messing my pants (and the pants of those around me).

As always on this topic,

1. Lovesexy--for the overall show, musicianship, theme, spectacle, etc...Prince at his creative height musically and artistically.

2. One Nite Alone--for its musicianship and focus on the music

3. Musicology--return to form for the masses and a damn good show, too

Snap

1. Lovesexy
2. 1999 Triple Threat
3. Dirty Mind

Musicology was cool -- but doesn't get in my top three
other honorable mentions: Nude, Gold, Hit N Run 2001

Nah - apparently Lovesexy was teh last tour to hit USA soil for 8 years and then came Act 1 which was shit hot show compared to teh crap Act2 we got over here.

Ever since that he's made up for his absence by only visiting Non US soil on tours a handful of times. Not to say he hasnt teased us though...there have been a number of WORLD tours that havent left USA/Canada

I'm surprised how many have mentioned the Musicology tour? And on some lists with Lovesexy which I saw and might be my choice. Musicology was the first tour I saw with the non-dancing Prince. I love to see him dance, or did. I guess he can't do splits anymore and is generally not as physical. To me, it's part of the show. Also, there weren't as many surprises on Musicology. Nothing pulled out of the forgotten past that I always wanted to hear live, or didn't even know I wanted to hear live. It's a shame that no one will see him perform like he could as recently as the late 90s.

I loved the Purple Rain tour and LoveSexy, BUT I got to sing with Prince on the ONA tour so I'd have to say ONA for sure....

Lovesexy was great for the creativity, Purple Rain for the spectacle & timing, but I have enjoyed the later ones the most, particularly Musicology. I thought the flow was perfect, with nary a dull moment. I can't say the same about the ones previous to Jam of the Year.
