The other day someone asked me what got you hooked on Prince?

For me it was the first time I heard and saw the video clip to Gett Off.
I don't whether it was the scream at the start of the song, his cheeky antics in the video clip or what but that was it, the next day I went and bought the hits album and then another albun and another and another... and before I knew it I was obsessed! So it got me thinking... what song got other Prince fans out there hooked on our man?

it's been my favorite song of his ever since i saw the video on the jukebox network back when i was 9 years old.

I would have been about 11 years old at the time, and remember I had just started listening to the radio on a regular basis. Even being that young, I remember how unique the song was and how it sounded like absolutely nothing I had ever heard before. Also, all of the different musical ideas presented in the song in only 5 minutes was amazing to me.

First time I ever heard Do Me Baby, I was hooked. I remember blushing and thinking whoever this is, I have to get to know him better. The rest is history.

The Cross: 1989 (i know that's not when it came out)

It was 1999 for me that was the first album that I heard. After that it was Controvery.(Loved the poster in that album.)

Raspberry Beret when I was young then the 0+> album and My Name Is Prince hooked me forever. I wore out a tape of the 0+> album.

17 Days started me on the purple path from casual fan to hardcore.

In 1983 I heard D.M.S.R for the first time. I had heard all of his hits up to then on the radio (I Wanna Be Your Lover, Controversy, 1999, LRC, etc…) and I thought they were cool. But I’d not heard anything as funky and innovative from him (I didn’t own any of his albums, just a couple of 45s). Although I did not really get hooked on to Prince until the whole Purple Rain experience a year later, D.M.S.R will always be the song that made me stand up and take notice.

I LIKED him the first time I heard the Dirty Mind album,but I actually got hooked on him once I saw the video 4 Automatic! SO sexy!

It wasn't actually the song though,
it was the video that got me!

There are a Number of his songs that I would like to pick, But I honestly don't remember.
