I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Thanks! And I'd agree wholeheartedly.

The funny part to me is, why can't Prince seem to retain a good lawyer who can advise on stuff like this? Shouldn't he have trademarked/copyrighted/whatever the NPG moniker way back in the early 90s when he started using it? I can see to some extent that he may not have known then that he wanted to cross into publishing back then, but a good advisor could have told him to just blanket his filing and lock that sh*t down.

Then again, Prince is notorious for not listening to folks, so....

So IF and only IF Prince loses, what's going to happen.

Nice work super-Prince sleuths! thumbs up!

I find it ironic that:

1. Prince has been using NPG since Grafitti Bridge days and now, about 15 years later this Nature Publish Groups catches on.

2. Prince is all Jehovah-ified and Nature Publish Group is all scientific and probably publishes stuff about evolution, etc. giggle Maybe they decided they didn't want their science fans thinking they are turning to religion. lol

Finally, I guess the Webby Award let the proverbial cat out of the bag--maybe if he wouldn't have received that, Nature Publishing Group would have been none the wiser.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I don't see why the whole site would have to be closed down, as even if they are intending to sell books, they aren't at the moment, and therefore are not in direct conflict just yet.

And if Prince wins the case proving he's been using the ngp moniker since '91 (pretty easy to prove I would have thought - there's this album called Diamonds & Pearls, see...!) then will he counter-sue and make them change their name?!

Not to mention this song in 1990 called, umm, "New Power Generation" featured on both the movie and soundtrack of...oh, darn. What WAS that name again?

How ironicalcal that Prince is being sued. Karma Electric is a bioch...
