Does anyone know exactly why Prince did the whole "2, 4, u, etc" thing? I mean, I know it stood out and stuff but was there a reason why? And the reason I ask is only because I'm fairly new to listening to a whole lot of Prince music and being an actual fan.

The other reason is because it popped into my head that he might originally have done it for efficiency...you know, if he had an idea for a song and he used the shorthand to write (the lyrics) down as quickly as possible...and just kept it that way. I doubt it, but I love to think about these things.

Strange thought, but I just wondered if anyone had any clue exactly why or if there was a reason other than "He's Prince."

I've been writing like that because it's quicker and I can still make the same points. Just seems to make sense that it is a bit easier.

Its weird and yet funny at the same time for me!! I write in Princebonics on all the Prince message boards and in emails and in instant messaging 2 fellow Prince freinds all the time, but u know that u are a total Prince freak when u are busy typing business letters or emails and u get 2 the end and u have printed them out and u have signed the letter, etc, and u realize that u have typed them all out in Princebonics!!

U then have 2 do them all over again in proper professional English!!!!
