"props and pounds" has a very p-funk homage feel to it. and there's a synth-string passage in it that is an all-out homage to "funkentelechy".

.

Goodness I hate props and pounds. ill

P's 1999 album as a whole is very influenced by Parliament/Funkadelic. From the Funkadelic like album cover to the song "1999". If u were hip to P-Funk BEFORE 1999 was released, u could see what I mean. That's the earliest P-Funk vibe P used on an album, except for "Bambi" which is early Funkadelic. Other waaay more obvious nods are of course;

Erotic City
We Can Funk
La La Hee Hee

The title song "3121" is vintage Prince being influenced by P-Funk. Funkadelic themselves did an ode to P with their song "Icka Prick" from the 81 album "Electric Spanking". P bit back with ripping artwork directly from that album cover for his 1999 album.

They both know how to do some dirty, grimy, sexy funk. Their music makes me just go nuts. My body just can't sit still when I hear We Can Funk or Do fries go with that shake?

For me, the most Clinton like moment would have to be the Erotic City song. That was pure FUNK history.

Thanks to You Tube,I've been on my P-Funk mode all week.Jams like La,La,La,He,He,Hee, Superfunkicalifragisexi,Bob George, Erotic City,Scarlet Pussy and a host of others clearly were inspired by George but what do you consider to be the most influenced moment of them all?
I think the song "New Power Generation" from the GB soundtrack has Clinton influence all over it.

I agree with all the above, but I always felt that
"Eye No"
and its sister
Le Grind
ad serious P-Funk feel.
Well, really all of the Black Album does.

Hot Wit' U from [b]Rave in2/b] always reminded me of George. It's that oriental-sounding keyboard hook. It sounds like Prince puposely imitates GC in the way he sings the verses.

La La Hee,is just a pure rip off of atomic dog.
also Prince published his WNPG origin playlist list from ONA which he shamelessy steals from just about everything from that.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!
