The different Phazes of Prince

I've followed Prince's carrer since the begining and all of the changes that have occured up until now. Each band that he has assembled has had it's own identity. I was listening to TMBGITW, Chaos and Disorder and She Spoke to me and I have to say the band he had at that time added so much to his sound. That line up will probably be my favorite.....

Michael Bland- Drums
Tommy Barbarella-Keys
Morris Hayes-Keys
Sonny T-Bass
Levi Seacer-Guitar

what do you think?

My one is so different

Prince - Lead vocal, guitar, piano and other instruments as required
Dez Dickerson - Lead and Rythm guitars backing vocals
Andre Cymone - Bass and backing vocals
Lisa Coleman - Keyboards and backing Vocals
Matt Fink - Keyboards
Bobby Z - Drums

Its the Dirty Mind band c 1980 to July 81 when Andre left. It was these guys that Prince cut his teeth with and put out his best and most ground breaking work with.
17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

I prefer:
Prince (guit/vox/double-bass)
Michael B. (drums)
Sonny T. (bass, bass, bass)

(and maybe afterwards some key overdubs by P. himself)

Tooo (or rather three) f***ing kool

If only he'd release some of the Picture Postcard sessions (summer 95: Picture Postcard, Scrappy Dinner, orig. of 3121 (differ. title), not to mention Umbrella Jam)
recorded w the PPP3.

Where did you get this info? I haven't heard this before, and Michael B has only mentioned recording drums for 3121 last October - he hasn't mentioned working on a previous version back in the day.

The line up on the ONA tour has to be the tightest I've ever seen his band play. The Lovesexy line up a strong 2nd.

What on earth is that?

You can search for it.

here'S the lyrics

Scrappy Dinner xcerpt (these lyrics are from Kirky J. remix called Raisins, dunno if they were altered)
...
and I was there at the scenery
as a saint, as a sinner
I just swept up the greenery
for 'nother scrappy dinner

Raisins
on strawberry tart
on the table
on marble
(repeat) (the Raisins part: funky 'open' 2note lick w/ drum machine & live snare (Lady cab Driver style, just bare boned to the beat)

Transcription of Picture Postcard 1stverseand1stchorus

(Writing down my life on a)
Picture Postcard

Sitting in a five & dime
writing down my life
On a picture postcard
The good days and the tough times
Concise, in black’n white
On a picture postcard

My lowest low, the highest high
Come to mind as I write
On a picture postcard
My loudest laugh, my deepest sigh
Stamped with a kiss goodbye
On a picture postcard

And it ends
I.W.Y.W. (I wish you well)

Sitting, eating apple-pie
Writing down my life
On a picture postcard
All the wherefores & the whys
My complete vitae
On a picture postcard
... etc etc etc

Sorry no more info...

Prince has too many to count. Prince Phazes last for about 31 minutes and seven seconds.
News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.
You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.
