I don't think he owes me anything but I am concerned about him losing fans. I think he needs to add fans let alone keep the ones he has. It would be nice to see him still be somewhat affordable for everyone to see so that they can understand where we have been coming from when it comes to P. In the end Prince is going to do what he wants to do because he always does. I'll still be here for the ride.

I understand what you are saying, but the Las Vegas gig is not the tour. It's just a one-off event on a holiday weekend.

I think a lot of fans are just selfish. They only think about themselves and what Prince should do for them. "Prince shouldn't be a JW because it influenced him to not sing sexually-charged lyrics that I like so much." "Prince shouldn't charge $312.01 for tickets because he knows I can't afford it." WTH!

Well, just maybe this is a special event for Prince. A treat for himself. A chance to charge top rate for being the best live performer alive. I thought we all knew he was the best live performer alive. Yeah, some know he is but think he should always charge cut-rate prices for his shows.

Let me point out again...it's only 2 shows, not a tour.
[Edited 5/8/06 10:48am]

You're absolutely right. I was jumping the gun. We haven't even heard any about any tour dates yet.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Well, since you ask:

A similar show could be used over here...on the east coast. Preferably NYC.

Amen 2 that! highfive

I asked this at the Club and I'm asking it here as well.

with the announcement of the Las Vegas show at 312 bucks, a lot of people seem to thinking that once again, Prince is either ripping off his fans, overcharging them, gonna lose part of his fanbase, etc. Some also seem to think that he is appealing to a certain segment of his fanbase, i.e., the uppercrust or richer ones. I am by no means wealthy but I intend to treat myself and head out to Vegas.

As Prince fans, what do you think Prince owes us?

He owes me some of those cookies the contest winners got. I want them fresh and I want him to bake them himself. I also want a video of him baking the cookies for verification. wink

we have both ends of the spectrum here; we always have. thankfully those extremes make it a more comfy place for those of us in the middle, cuz we can have intelligent conversations while the polar opposite contingent dukes it out in vivid technicolor.

though in my experience here, a banned NPGMC'er is the best of both worlds: they tend to be embittered former superfams. quite a lovely species. touched

Since I've never met him personally he doesn't owe me a damn thing. If we ever met in person, he'd owe me the same thing I expect from everyone: respect as a person and I'd give him the same.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

He puts a smile in my heart, and
gives me rhythms to dance to.
He shares with me songs to whisper, humm, sing, bellow-out
and ride along with on mental melodies during quiet times,
while at work and/or other times of quiet-tudeness in my life.
His creativeness has been a catalyst to my creative drive.
Purple dances and strawberry colors of love, diamonds and pearls
strung on the lines of musical harmonies.
I've shouted and danced, and smiled at strangers
as they enjoyed the concerto of the guitar he was blessed to play...
must i add more to this short synopsis of how my heart sings
when Prince begins to dance sing and play?
in conclusion....

to answer the posted question: nothingness
defined....
The condition or quality of being nothing; nonexistence.

rainbow heart for him and the gifts of his music...

(1986) I spent money on two tickets plus popcorn and drinks to see Under The Cherry Moon.

1990 I spent money on two tickets in Vancouver of all places to see Grafitti Bridge.

I videotaped that ABC Three Chains thing. The blank tape was $1.99

I paid $12.99 for the "Come" CD.

But overall the Luvsexy and Musicology tours made up for it.

Prince doesn't owe me anything. The man's given me great music, a cool 1st and 2nd movie, some great live shows, and great musical inspiration. If he were to retire today, I'd have no problem with it.

I owe him loads, actually, so whatever he owes me is a negative number...

Let's see.

- I listen to his music which is worth so much more than I pay for it (it's true, really)
- I 'stole' a ton of phrases from his songsand use them jokingly (for instance, sho 'nuf do be,...etc., which is not exclusive to his song, but anyway)
= His music has motivated me to do things when I otherwise would have wasted time

yup, i owe him

HE'S COMING AGAIN
