That's it, I've had it with Prince. He's out of his mind!! Only a fool would actually shell out that much for a has-been artist who seems to have no regard for his fanbase anyway...is he that desperate for money?? And that gimmick of using the numbers 3121 is getting old. I bet he's the laughing stock once people get hold of this.

Okay, so I guess you won't take the time to log back in on any fanclub sites then since you are through with him and refer to him as a has-been right? I mean why would you take the time to do that?

By the way, didn't he just finish doing some hit-n-run shows for $31 bucks a couple of months ago. I was at one of those shows, which was slamming and got to stand a feet away from the man, even got a chance to shake his hand and my friend got a chance to dance on stage next to this musical icon.

Prince has done thousands of shows and has given fan more than enough opportunity to see him at a reasonable price. So for TWO SHOWS, the price is expensive and you choose to damn him for that?

I know I can't judge yall as fans because yall are killing me with this quick urge to hate or be bitter towards Prince. Good Lawd!

why does it say new 3121 location?
So, was he forced to move out of the old 3121 mansion in Cali?

The only beef I have with the midget is his lack of promotion for 3121 (no interviews, no television appearances, no video show appearances...WTF!!!!) But I'm not getting on the man for charging insane ticket prices in the money pit that is Las Vegas...I think a lot of you folks have no idea what Sin City is all about...Try going to a Celine Dion or Elton John show...it's just not that serious..

The ticket price seems absolutely INSANE to me.

That being said, I'm happy that the email alludes to more shows. Which I assume will be more affordable.

And for those of you who can afford this show, ENJOY!

For the sake of my own pocketbook, I'm also happy it's so pricey. Had the tix been reasonable, my ass would be booking airfare today. This saves me money all around smile

sad

I know...another year and I might feel differently. But I just can't conceive of spending that kinda ca$h with my current finances.

Also, being the lucky MPLS boy that I am, I've had ample opportunity for the 'intimate club' type shows over the years (most often for free or almost free). So, the Vegas show doesn't hold the same appeal for me that it likely does others. Had I not already had these experiences, I would view that Vegas show in a different light I'm sure.

ALL that being said, you should TOAD go if you can. I'm sure it'll be an awesome experience nod Screw Madge, drop yer $300 on the Princey. smile

Okay, who wants to give me an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas + Prince tickets for my birthday on May 28? Please? Pretty please? batting eyes

pout I bummed, I won't be going and I wish I could since it will really be my birthday, but right now, I'm a little financially chanllenged. lol

My question is what role will Tamar "as guest" (and the Twinz, I sure) play? Are they strictly going to be backup? Will they open? Or are you paying $312 to see Tamar & Prince duets all night? If I was shelling out that much money to go, I'd damn well want 3 hours of Prince... Don't get me wrong, Tamar is good, but not worth $312.

Oh, and I'm serious about the birthday gift...I'm a nice person, really I am. biggrin
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I have a weird Rave On To The Year 2000 feeling about this show. I'm surprised they are not selling Ultra-VIP tickets at $3 121.00 with backstage pass or something.

I believe that as an artist and as a businessman Prince has every right to charge whatever he wants to, especially since there have been hundreds of opportunities for fans to see him live for a reasonable price.

What I am trying to understand is why people feel personally insulted?

This is one-off event people. Two freaking shows. This is not the tour. I bet the majority of the people whining would not have flown out to Las Vegas even if the tickets were only $100. The excuse then would have been that the notice was too short and how it would be too difficult to get a hotel room due to it being a holiday weekend. confused

General comment here:

Choosing not to fly to Vegas and spend that much on a concert doesn't make anybody less of a fan.

Alternately, being fortunate enough to have the means and ability to attend this Vegas show doesn't make one stupid or an idiot, nor more of a fan either, and therefore should give no one the right to insult others who either don't have the funds or don't share the same ideas regarding personal finances.

I am refering to the "cheapskate" namecalling higher up on this thread, by the way.

Very sad that a fun experience such as this concert will be for the ones who go gets twisted into judgemental ugliness.

Thank you.

But I don't agree that Prince is the one indirectly behind the judgemental ugliness and nasty attitudes.

One chooses of one's own free will to respond in an ugly manner...or to not.

lol,

I am very very happy about this concert,

The thread started on a very negative side with people bitching about the ticket price.

my comment was this

Im there!

I havent been to Vegas in a while so this is perfect!

Seems to be a lot of cheapskates in this org thing, $312. to see a living legend in concert in Vegas while hes still reletively young is a steal!!

The man is geting old, so people, go get to see the man now while you still can!!!!!
I know youll regret it 20 years from now, make that 5 yrs from now.

Im sorry about the cheapskate coment i know i never should of said it, but the negativity didnt start at my end.

for all that were hurt by it i am sorry.

Hope its a great show and hugs to all

I would be very concerned that the price will be a sign of things to come.

I've heard that the price is a "test".

ok, I would be like this if he came to Holland with these ridiculous prices:
Too bad, I'm not going..... Will I miss much? I doubt it!' I've seen him many times before, some of them in his best part of his career, almost 20 years ago. Hell, I was in the audience during the Smaal Club aftershow in The Hague.....will he do better this time? I doubt it.....Really, the only song from 3121 I'd really would like to see live is 'Fury', after seeing it on SNL.....the rest.....oh well, I'm sure I'll get a hold of a live bootleg!
I would make an effort getting into an aftershow.....but not for that price either.....I'd rather see 6 shows by other interesting bands.....

i was referring to the old 3121 joint in cali where the landlord was suing and whatnot. i figured maybe he was forced out of that house and just relocated the "3121" house to Las Vegas. Because even the original 3121 house's real address ain't 3121. it's 1235 or something.

THAT is classic!!!

I guess we now know where Prince has been...smoking crack. $300 for a damn General Admission concert? No way...never...ever. I would only pay that for something in the first five rows. Can you imagine how pissed people will be when they get there and have to stand in the back of the club?

There are just so many things wrong with this whole "3121" project...hard to believe he completely killed all the momentum he had built up from the Musicology project, but he has.

And from the sound of the "Purple Ticket" concert, it's going to be just as much Tamar as Prince...yuck. I'm having NewPowerSoul Tour flashbacks already...especially since Larry Graham came out of hiding on Saturday as well.

Peace,

Matthew

Too bad his ticket prices are the only thing obscene about him these days.

It seems clear Prince is again desillusioned with the industry. The Prince of two years ago was inclusive and more practical. This Prince, which I have no problem calling the Prince of Bel Air, is exclusive and anything but practical.
