Sign of the Times dvd - dutch version is crap

Hi girls and boys,

I bought a dvd from the Sign of the Times-movie last year by some dutch company.

I had this movie on video before, but i thought it would be nice to have it in better DVD-quality. When playing the DVD for the first time two things immediately occured to me.

1) The quality of the images is poor: it just seems as the company put the tape from the original video on a DVD.

2) More worse even: the whole things is played too fast, so the songs sounds sped up in a unnatural way, spoiling the listening pleasure.

I have played the DVD (it was cheap by the way, 12 euro) only a few times after that, but it doesnt come close to the video i got of it, especially because the sound being speeded up.

I have read about other DVD's of the movie. Can any of you recommend me a better version of the one i have? I mean, it still is one of the best concertmovie i have seen in my life, and i would love to see and, hear it especially in good quality.

There are 2 versions, Dutch and I think Brazilian, which are practically bootlegs, just the video scanned onto the DVD. Something to do with the copyright laws in those counties allowing it.

The first company to do a proper transfer (including widescreen) onto DVD was Atlantic Alliance (available from the Canadian Amazon) which is NTSC format. That DVD was released in the UK converted to PAL format under the name Network.

PAL is slightly higher resolution than NTSC but the audio plays slightly quicker giving a slightly squeakier quality, due to the conversion process.

Most people think the NTSC version is superior but it is worth checking to see whether your DVD player can play NTSC or only PAL before you buy.
