My God how I love The Dance. I was listening to it on the subway again and when he got to the last part of the song, I had to hold on to the pole next to me cause I was so caught up in the song and his vocals. Man, I missed songs like this! Too damn cool for me! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |

Oh yeah, The Dance does it for me. In the early stages of a relationship when I said, "I didn't want to feel this way again" to her, and now those words and the feeling is in this song!!
Oh boy! It hit me hard this track (I cried tears of joy), like I Hate U did some time ago, like the passion in the outro. How does the Purple one do this to me? Music speaks of love, unconditional, unbridled, unrestrained. A love supreme. I'm diggin 3121, but this has knocked me out. ------------------------------------------------

This is also my favourite track right now. I think the people who will appreciate this are those that can stretch with Prince a bit and not be solely on board with his "Rock side" his "Funk side" etc. If you are a Damn U fan, you will love this.
The instrumentation is gorgeous as is the melody. I also am really digging the lyrics. "I don't want to hold your hand, cause if I did I would follow you everywhere". There are some very cool nuances that I love. Specifically, the hand claps at the end, and the single, piercing piano note, that hits right before he goes into the second verse. Brilliant! Lastly the pace of this soong is wonderful. The intensity build to the climax reminds me of Shhh! and The Beautiful Ones one of my all time favourites. I am extremely happy with this album. | |

Im just not getting this track. Im into the album, and i can play it right the way through to the end of The Word, at which point I feel compelled to go straight to Get On The Boat. The Dance & beautiful Loved & Blessed bring down the album in my opinion. All those comparing this to The Beautiful ones are insane, its not even on the same scale. Like with lots of other Prince songs, some people love it or hate it. I was that way with Pussy Control. Some thought that was the jam of all time, I still can't listen to it. The Dance however seems pretty solid to me - perhaps certain songs just have different appeal to different people. I would highly recommend not skipping it though, I did not dig it till about spin number 10. | |

I always liked the Dance but i prefer the original Chocolate version, although they r both good ..... the original is alot softer vocally & with the piano & thats y i like it ..... also love the last minute of this new version!

That sexual tension, the pleading and the scream. Father God the scream. I've had to get up and stomp my foot after hearing that part. Prince was bringing the heat!
I love the climax aswell, and i find it hard to explain, but there is a certain way he plays the guitar at the end that is signature prince, it is so subtle, but makes me love the song that much more | |
