Prince opened the BRIT Awards?

I was under the impression that Prince opened the BRIT Awards, and that Chris Evans introduced him as "Coldplay".

Now I've been told that on ITV's edit, the show opened with Kaiser Chiefs and Chris Evans introduced him as "Prince" later in the show, in a shot that looked like it was done just for the cameras (i.e. not live but just for the TV broadcast).

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Prince played second.

He was introduced on the night as 'Coldplay' by Chris Evans as 'a surprise' even though it was widely known by then that he was performing that night.

When the show aired, the introduction was re-shot because it would have looked simply as if the show had been edited wrongly.

I was there and he was introduced EXACTLY as he was on TV - Chris Evans just said "Prince" and he started playing straight away.

He was second on.
