Albums Prince did as "The Artist"...

How would you rate them?

Ive yet to hear The Gold Experience, Chaos and Disorder or Crystal Ball(though Im very aware of the damage the latter did to the fanbase). Heres what I think of the rest

Emancipation: Had it been a single disc, hell maybe even a double disc, it would have worked brilliantly. But 3 discs? Because of this, the album sounds a bit bloated. There's still some tight songs here like "Jam of The Year", "Somebodys Somebody", "The Holy River" and "Sex in the Summer"

NewPower Soul: Utter crap. With the exceptions of "Come On", "The One" and "Wasted Kisses", the rest of the CD is kinda weak. It gets downright cringy when Doug E. Fresh raps.

Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic: Very inconsistant. Some songs are great, others arent. What frustrates me is that the ones that arent great sounded like they could have worked had they been more polished. Nothing here is exceptionally bad, and Prince did put some really classic stuff on here like "Pretty Man" and "I Love You But I Dont Trust You". But the album sounds like it could have been worked on a bit more

As for The Rainbow Children: Music was fresh, but the lyrics were a bit much to digest easily.

i think emancipation and rave were the weakest of them all, because he was trying the hardest to make "hit" or "defining" albums, and he second-guessed himself and spread himself too thin all over the place. all the rest i think at the very least have moments of true insane genius...the freakier the better.

My family has a saying, Oppions are like Assholes.

Everyone has one and they all stink.

I would disagree with anything said here, thus is the nature of argument and debate.

Now can you look inside your self and find the anti-argument about the statements you have made?

Oppions are like Assholes, everyone has one and they all stink.

I loved Emancipation and C&D, and I could disagree to argue they did no such damage to the "fan base" but really what is the point wink

Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so.

The first 5 sentences were a statment about making statements such as anything being liked or disliked.

The last sentence was a statement that I liked Eman and C&D alot, but it is obscured by my former statement that statements are empty and pointless. biggrin

You must have a huge family because I've heard that saying (re: opinions) all over the place, it's a very common phrase.

Are you're family rabbits by any chance?

That generic rebute was the nicest thing you have ever had to say to me thus far. Wow, your arguments are getting thin. I used the "family saying" because some of use have heard it else where while others haven't and I didn't want them to feel left out.

P.S. Are you Lisa or Wendy because it would seem God reversed your PMS also.

You like to bitch at me, but maybe it is you don't like you self. 4uC I don't ad a comment to every post. Actually, my comments per posts is quite limited. They may simply just be the posts you like to click on as well. shrug Maybe you and I are more alike then you would care to face at this time. biggrin have a nice day.

Your family needs to learn how to spell "opinion", as well.

No, no... G was talking about "Oppions". These are rare vegetables - an exotic, hot house cross breed between opium poppy plants and onions. If you eat them they will cause you to post questionable, sometimes unintelligible gibberish and, also, make you stink. It's quite possible his family is in the oppion growing business.

Unfortunally, some of the most inteligent minds here thanks me for my "not to the lowest common denominator" posts. Those that can only see unintelligible gibberish, and then reply to my comments as such are simply labbling themself simple. biggrin

Thank God! you were laughing and thus I understand you were joking. I would hate for you to list yourself as once of those common simpltions. biggrin

I'll bring this back on topic. Get the GOld Experience, it's his best CD. I think that the Symbol period was really cool, personally.

Brilliant.

Though in G's defense, I'd like to point out that Prince too has a tendency to sing questionable, sometimes unintelligible, jibberish lyrics. So Mick G is a lot like Prince, without the talent, fame, money, charisma, and achievement.

By the way, I'm a noob. Hi everyone. And Mick, forgive me if I come off like I'm piling on, but your posts are begging to be ridiculed.

Prince is somewhat like me. Lucky Him!

however, you mistake. I am not without the talent, or charisma. And I might also argue the achievement, but someone's personal perception of what "achievement" is should be left alone. My Point is I have much talent, just because it isn't exposed through "fame" doesn't mean it is unexistant. My charisma, it my own to use as I see fit, unlike prince that spreads it about like concreat upon a new world. My achievements, again, unsean by most, are still far greater then most have achieved. So, that leaves us with fame. Fame is a fickel lover. As fickel lovers goes, they will fly from person to person, and they will see you as beauty one day and then beast the next.

as for my posts begging to be ridiculed? Well, it is a messageboard, and we must give the people something to read and respond to. biggrin

Pointless.

Anyway, glad to see you can take the treatment you seem to be asking for. Back to the topic before this gets too personal.

Prince during "The Artist" years was laughable. But I grant that name changes are a universal human ritual. We all go through phases where we shorten our name, go by nicknames, initials, or whatever, to signify a new phase in our lives. Prince was going through a phase where he abandoned his roots, took on this new role of crusading musician. Not sure if that role fit him, as he was always more compelling as a rebel than a crusader. Glad he took his name back, and it's encouraging to see him working with major labels again.

I love those years. That was the dirtiest time period for him. He was cussing, screaming, jamming on the symbol guitar with Mayte shaking her great ass everywhere. He went underground and if you wasn't looking you missed it. Good times.
